Shopping in France?

Mar 22, 2009 @ 8:23pm

totally random but very french.jpgHello fashionistas!

I know you've dished suggestions for the best of Paris shopping, but this summer I'm headed pretty much everywhere in France but the capital.

I'll be spending most of my time in the Loire Valley, Provence and Cote D'Azur - which will be amazing - but I definitely want to get some shopping done while I'm there. Anyone have any favorite shops I should check out?

Or any ideas on how to find the best places once I'm there? I'm open to everything from designer to vintage but don't want to totally break the bank.

Thanks!

If you spend time in Provence and côte d'azur you must go in Aix en Provence,it's a small town, very "bourgeoise", excellent for shopping: there is a street (marius reinaud) with only french designers: Comptoir des cotonniers, Zadig et Voltaire, Sonia Rykiel, Maje (my favoriite), Lancel, Tara Jarmon, Zapa, Lanvin and Hermes. It really is a great town with many cool cafés.
Of course you can also go to Cannes, it's on the Costa Rivera, you also have great french shops, wonderful beaches but it is kind of crowded, with a lot of tourists.
Good luck and have fun!

oh and I forgot in The rue de la glacière in aix en provence you also have two amazing shops: La grande Boutique and Carlotta, they both have great things: marc jacobs, jérome dreyffus, Isabelle marant, HTC...

Aix en Provence is great and it's not hard to find good shopping items there! Left to Cours Myrabeau is a good shopping district
