Get the Boot

I live in Chicago and, in prep for the bitter cold fall/winter, am starting to look for a good pair of boots. Yes, shopping for boots is my difficulty as I have had bad luck in the past.

Last year I got too many elf boot comments so I was looking for any advice/help you all have to offer for this upcoming season! I'm just looking for a pair to wear with jeans, black pants, dresses, etc. Nothing Ugg-like and preferably under $100, or at least not crazy expensive.

So if anyone is bored at work and would like to hunt for me or you just happen to know exactly what I'm looking for, I thank you in advance!

the ones in the photo are proenza schouler (and come with a $795 price tag... basically my dream booties)

maybe wait another month or so, some boots may start to go on sale by then.
