A Denim Dilemma

Mar 29, 2009 @ 5:29pm

cheap monday jeans.jpgI desperately need new jeans.

I've been wearing Cheap Mondays but both of my pairs have holes in them. I can get away with wearing them for now, but it's only a matter of time before the rips become scandalous.

I'm pretty curvy - probably too hippy for Cheap Mondays in the first place - so I need tight jeans that hold their shape. I like skinny jeans, but I'm willing to try something different.

Also, I'm a student so they can't cost hundreds of dollars. Any suggestions? Or should I just stick with Cheap Mondays?

Prepping Dark Jeans

black jeans.jpgHi,

I just bought a gorgeous pair of super-dark jeans that I am loving.

Unfortunately, even though I have washed them five times, the color continues to come off on everything they touch.

I am now limited to wearing them with dark tops and black bags to prevent ruining any of my other clothing.

Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

Thanks!

Hem-ming and Hawing

kate moss in wide leg jeans.jpgI always have to hem jeans (being 5'2) and I have a standard inseam length that I always use when I get jeans tailored - one for flats, one for heels.

I just bought a pair of J Brand Kat wide legged jeans - I'm obsessed. I got them hemmed about 1/2 inch longer than my usual "heel" length and yet they still look too short to me - which means I can only wear them with two inch heels.

A couple of weeks ago I got another pair of cute wide legged jeans and for the first time ever I don't think I'll have to get them hemmed. They almost brush the floor when I wear heels and I like them because they don't get caught under my heels or anything.

But I've seen pictures of wide legged denim worn to the ground and pictures in which they're hemmed two inches from the ground showing off the shoes.

So I'm wondering what is the proper length for wide legged jeans and pants?

Thanks!

Wide-Leg Jeans with Heels?

wide leg jeans.jpgHello Fashionista,

I know there have beens posts about wide leg jeans in the past, but I have a specific question.

I recently purchased a pair of Goldsign wide leg orchid jeans. I plan on wearing them with a pair of platforms, but the bottoms of the jeans just skim the ground, covering the shoe completely. They are so wide you can barely see my feet.

Does this look silly? I feel if they were any shorter they would look too short! any thoughts on the proper length of a wide leg jean with heels? Thanks!
