Christina Aguilera Covers February’s Marie Claire: …and doesn’t give a damn what you think about her body! She tells the glossy, “I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that’s all that matters to me.” Let ‘em know Ms. Aguilera! {Marie Claire}

Blue Ivy Carter is Jay-Z’s “Glory”: You are most certainly a robot if you don’t shed a tear to this track by doting father Jay-Z, telling the story of his new daughter’s arrival, ending with a sample of her first cries. We’re getting a little misty just talking about it! {Hello Beautiful}

Britney Spears Rumored to Wed in Betsey Johnson or Jeremy Scott, Here Are Six Potential Gowns for the Bride-to-Be

Pop princess Britney Spears announced her engagement to Jason Trawick last month, and like any bride, is wasting no time thinking about the most important wedding detail: the dress.

And rather than doing something predictable, like a choosing gown by the queen of wedding dress designers Vera Wang, or taking a page out of Kate Middleton‘s book and rocking a McQueen frock, the Belfast Telegraph is reporting that Ms. Spears is “thinking about asking one of her favourite designers, someone like Betsey Johnson or her friend Jeremy Scott. If it’s Jeremy, it’ll be more futuristic. If she picks Betsey, it’ll still be edgy but more traditional, with a lot of layering.”

If anything, her unorthodox taste in dress designers makes it clear that Britney wants to make a statement at her wedding. Here are a few pieces from Jeremy and Betsey that might fit the bill for what she’s looking for.

20 Moments that Rocked the Fashion World in 2011

We’ll cut right to the chase: A lot of crazy shit happened in the fashion world this year. While the industry that we call home can sometimes seem isolated and fantastical, many of its key players and events made headlines even in the mainstream media over the course of 2011.

In the last 365 days, we’ve seen our share of ups and downs: There have been exciting new beginnings and tragic falls from grace. A royal wedding and a Sarah Burton for McQueen dress captivated the world, while Galliano’s dress for Kate Moss made the fashion world swoon. We’ve celebrated the return of older models—like when 46-year-old Kristen McMenamy wore a bikini on the cover of Vogue Italia—and saw plenty of controversy surrounding very young ones. Just when we thought the boundaries of gender identity were breaking for good and that Lea T could kiss Kate Moss on the cover of LOVE, a men’s mag openly calls androgynous model Andrej Pejic a “thing.” We took it all in stride, and we’ve hopefully come out better on the other side.

Looking back at 2011, we’ve chosen twenty major moments that we believe defined the year in fashion. Which one made the biggest impact on you?

Alexa Chung Beats Out Kate Middleton for the British Style Award (Plus the Full List of Winners from the British Fashion Awards)

Alexa Chung Beats Out Kate Middleton for the British Style Award (Plus the Full List of Winners from the British Fashion Awards)

The results from the British Fashion Awards are in and while there are a lot of familiar names in the winners’ circle, there are some surprises, too. Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen won for Designer of the Year (deservedly so). Alexa Chung took home the British Style award, which normally wouldn’t be so shocking–except this year she was up against Kate Middleton *gasp*. The Model category, made up of industry vets and a relative newcover, was a bit of a wild card. Stella Tennant, looking amazing in a skinny tuxedo, beat out Georgia May Jagger and Kristen McMenamy. Victoria Beckham, now a bona fide fashion designer, had some stiff competition with Burberry, Stella McCartney and Tom Ford for Designer Brand, but she won. Quite an achievement for a former pleather-wearing Spice Girl. Click through for a full list of winners:

If Miu Miu’s Fall Ad Campaign Was ‘Irresponsible’ Here Are Some Really ‘Irresponsible’ Ad Campaigns

As we reported earlier, Hailee Steinfeld’s fall 2011 Miu Miu campaign, which depicted her sitting near a train track, was banned in the UK for being “irresponsible because it depicted a child in an unsafe location.”

By that logic, the following ad campaigns, some of which depict actual dangerous situations, should never have made it to print. I mean, I can’t believe we aren’t hearing about people hurting themselves every day by climbing the Eiffel Tower in high heels and standing on top of volcanos. Although, death by attempting to recreate a Dior campaign would be a pretty chic way to go. Fashin has some excellent “irresponsible” ad campaigns with some hilarious captions here. Click through for 10 more examples.

Sarah Burton On Why She Almost Turned Down the Head Designer Job at McQueen and How Joey from Friends Inspired Alexander McQueen

Sarah Burton’s coming out of her shell a bit and has given a few really charming and revealing interviews recently. She speaks candidly about designing Kate Middleton’s wedding gown (and why she almost turned the job down) and how Alexander McQueen found inspiration in the most unlikely of places.

Here are the best bits from the two articles:
