Presenting Fashionista’s First-Ever Fashion Oscars: The Industry’s Big Winners

We couldn’t wait a whole year to get re-excited about the Academy Awards! (Honestly, how did we make it last time?) So we had an idea.

“Lo!” we thought (in so many words), “Why not host our own Oscars… for fashion! We’ll save costs by forgoing that whole ‘red carpet’ tomfoolery–who cares about that part anyway! We’ll gather an elite team of the finest online editors in the industry–we won’t disclose their identities, so as to protect their privacy and keep the suspense–and we’ll announce the winners via our fair website! By jove, I think we’ve DONE IT!”

And done it, we did.

Behold, the winners (and almost winners–seriously, Karl, it’s a huge honor that you’re even included in this post) of the first annual Fashionista Fashion Oscars.

This morning we heard that Chanel’s innovative creative director of makeup, Peter Philips, had parted ways with the fashion house, and we kind of freaked out a little bit. After all, he’s the man who season after season (since 2008) has been creating the beauty products–not to mention amazing runway looks–that everyone couldn’t wait to get their hands on. But it turns out that he’s not really leaving Chanel completely. (Whew!)
