It’s been a season of second, third, and even fourth chances. After stints at Perry Ellis, Paco Rabanne, and Gap, designer Patrick Robinson is once again staging a comeback–this time, as creative director of Armani Exchange.

Currently waiting in the wings is former Dior designer John Galliano, who has been assisting in Oscar de la Renta’s atelier and is purportedly in talks to teach at Parsons.

We can’t say for sure whether either of these comebacks will take, but we can tell you about the returns other designers have staged in the past. Here are fashion’s greatest comeback stories:

Iman, DVF and More Bring Studio 54 Vibes to New Stephen Burrows Retrospective

That ’70s Studio 54 vibe was back and in full swing last night as fashion’s old and new guard feted the opening of groundbreaking designer Stephen Burrows’s retrospective exhibit at the City Museum. Though some may not know of Burrows’s inarguable contributions to the energy of 1970s New York fashion, those in attendance were there to celebrate the man who brought the disco right into the design studio.

What We Saw at New York Fashion Week, Day Five

Today we hit the midway point in the New York fashion week madness, with shows from Derek Lam, Victoria Beckham, DVF, Zac Posen, and many more.

We got a pretty good seat behind Anna and Grace at Thakoon and spied Bryanboy and Fashionista contributor David Yi rocking matching looks at DKNY. We also caught dreamgirls Crystal Renn and Coco Rocha being beautified backstage as Zac Posen (as if they needed it), and models vogueing backstage at Derek Lam.

Check out everything we saw and snapped from day five of New York fashion week!
