Bianca Balti, the Face of Ferragamo’s New Fragrance, Tells Us Why She’s Like a Cat

Last night Ferragamo celebrated the launch of their new fragrance, Signorina, with a celeb-filled bash at Julian Schnabel’s glorious pink Palazzo Chupi (his daughter Stella also happened to be one of the hosts of the party). The Richards sisters, Kate Mara, AnnaSophia Robb (the newly cast young Carrie Bradshaw), Courtney Love, Emma Roberts, and fashion-y Read more →

Ferragamo Pre-Fall 2012: Traveling in Style
Reviews

Ferragamo Pre-Fall 2012: Traveling in Style

Ferragamo’s first ever pre-fall collection was a more wearable and refined answer to spring’s loud, colorful cocktail dresses. Perhaps what a Ferragamo girl wears during the day, or on a journey by train, which was the collection’s inspiration–not that it’s casual. The bold mixed prints will grab plenty of attention, and the beautiful, luxurious bags made with precious skins are not to be tossed around.

Overall, we loved the surprisingly short skirts, plaid coats, boxy purses and vintage-inspired shoes. There was also this chic school-girl look for grown ups, matured with fishnets, heels and sophisticated accessories. There was a lot of vintage inspiration–much of which, we were told, came from the Ferragamo archives. We also loved the above look–a ’20s-esque purple dress with lots of pleats and an intricate neckline. We were told this particular look was a taste of what’s to come for fall. Fashion News Roundup: More Versace for H&M; Mischa Barton Poses with Steak and Rihanna Gets Naked for Esquire

Versace x H&M Continues to Tease Us: Two new pictures of Versace for H&M’s ad campaign have surfaced and this time we’ve got an actual price tag on one of the garments: $199 for a mini dress. {Lucky}

Speaking of covetable goods from H&M: Check out new photos of their fall conscious collection. {FabSugar}

Rihanna is Naked, Again: This time for Esquire. They dub her the sexiest woman alive. Hard to disagree. She’s also not mad at Chris Brown anymore. {Esquire}

Mischa Gets Beefy: Literally. Mischa Barton posed with raw steaks for photographer Tyler Shields. We don’t know why. It’s weird. {Tyler Shields}

How’s this for a mind fuck: Nicola Formichetti has designed virtual clothes for a three-dimensional avatar, based on Mugler model Rico Genest, for a video game called Eve. Says the designer: “I mean if you could make your own avatar, and if you could dress yourself up, I think people will be buying virtual goods.” So now we’ll be expected to drop wads of cash on garments that don’t actually exist? {Dazed Digital}

Eva Mendes, Freida Pinto and Scott Speedman Turn Out For Ferragamo’s Wildly Extravagant Resort Show

Today is a good day for Ferragamo. The label debuted on the Milan stock exchange this morning to a strong showing. Yesterday afternoon, the storied 83-year-old Florence house presented their first ever show in the US. And, almost as if Ferragamo knew they’d richer the next day, they pulled out all the stops for this resort show.

Ferragamo presented their 2012 resort collection in the grandest of settings–the James B Duke mansion on New York’s upper east side, former home to heiress Doris Duke. (It’s now owned by NYU and houses an art history library for grad students–the space is reason enough to apply.) Models descended from a marble staircase (not an easy feat in sky high platform wedges) as a bevy of A-list celebrities–including Eva Mendes, Frieda Pinto, Emma Roberts and Scott Speedman (who was there with girlfriend Theresa Palmer, creepy stalker photo proof below)–watched on.

Listen: Ice-T’s Wife Coco Lists 16 Shoe Designers In Her New Single “Shoe Freak”

Somebody finally thought to give awesome couple Ice-T and Coco an awesome reality TV show, Ice Loves Coco. Coco has always had her own distinct style, which is getting a lot more exposure now that she’s on TV. She’s obviously a fashion lover and now she’s using music to express that love. In her first single, “Shoe Freak,” Coco simply lists shoe designers that she likes–in a breathy sexy voice, of course. Only a short excerpt of the single has hit the internet and in that minute she lists 16 shoe designers, including: Jimmy Choo, Yves Saint Laurent, Giuseppe, Gucci, Christian Louboutin, Prada, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Dior, Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, Brian Atwood, Sergio Rossi, Fendi, and Louis Vuitton. And that’s just a minute of “Shoe Freak.” Can’t wait to see what the full track has in store… (Via Buzzfeed)

Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2011: Working Girl

Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2011: Working Girl

MILAN–As much as former Fashionista editor Britt Aboutaleb wants the velvet trend to die, I want the pinstripe trend to succeed.

Apparently, so does Salvatore Ferragamo designer Massimiliano Giornetti. Nearly half the looks in yesterday’s collection were pinstripe, and when they weren’t, we saw dots, houndstooth, and check.

It was all very ’80s, and for a girl like me who loves power suiting, it was good. From the bow collars to the slicked back hair, it’s obvious that Giornetti’s woman is sentimental for Armani and could do without the current minimalist trend.

How Your Inspirational Travel Story Could Win You A Ferragamo Bag (Plus Where Selita Ebanks, Elettra Wiedemann, and More Go To Get Inspired)

Are you a fabulous jet-setter or wanderlusting backpacker with inspirational travel stories to tell? If so, Massimiliano Giornetti, creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo, wants to hear them, and your travelogue might inspire a one-of-a-kind Ferragamo W bag.

The iconic W bag is named after the company’s matriarch, Wanda Ferragamo, and is decidedly travel-inspired. “For the Resort 2011 collection I drew heavily from the Mediterranean and the new jet set crowd that holidays on the coast,” Massimiliano Giornetti said in a release. “I’m always curious to know what inspires others and how their sources of inspiration affect their daily lives and style choices. With the technology of today, the W List was created to share stories that inspire ourselves and inspire others digitally as we travel the globe at a second’s thought.”
