Turns out Cher didn’t even really know who Gareth Pugh was before she attended his show yesterday.
So, um, Cher showed up at Paris fashion week.
Cher, people.
She sat front row at Gareth Pugh and when we found out (we were not there) we immediately went to Cher’s twitter, because ever since Gawker tipped us off about the awesomeness of her Twitter feed, we’ve been hooked. Transfixed is maybe a better word for it.
Sadly, she has not tweeted about Pugh’s voluminous-gothic-black-crow collection yet, so we mined her Twitter to pull a few tweets that we imagine might describe her reaction:
We’ve got a fresh Beyoncé rumor to report–and this one has nothing to do with whether or not she lip synced the national anthem at Monday’s inauguration (we’re still refusing to believe that she did).
It’s about freaking time. Rumors of a Zoolander sequel have been swirling for 11 years and now we finally seem to have confirmation in the form of an IMDB page. It’s not officially confirmed yet and there’s no word when it could come out, but in the meantime, you can get your Blue Steel fix thanks to this (hilarious) new video of Ben Stiller doing his best Derek Zoolander at Comedy Central’s “Night of Too Many Stars” Autism charity event. {Style Bistro}
Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy and wife Carla Bruni stopped by the Upper East Side for a bit of takeout – around $1,100 worth. That’s a lot of pizza. {NYPost}
The Super Bowl is one of America’s biggest televised events, so the halftime performance has to be just as huge. And what could be bigger than Beyonce? The superstar will headline the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show. {HuffPo}
“Smarten up” seemed to be the coaches’ message Wednesday as the first big shows in Paris got underway. Enfant terrible Gareth Pugh was promoted to Varsity when he went medieval on critics–in a totally soigné contemporary way. Meanwhile, in the battle of moody romanticism between two great print houses, Dries van Noten and Rochas, Dries’s flannel à la française scored a touchdown–and that’s how the game was won.
People, it’s time to kiss humanity goodbye. Folks are snacking on peoples’ faces, grilling their unfaithful lovers’ lips, and chomping on their roommates’ hearts. The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us, and our undead friends are hungry for limbs, organs, and of course, braaaains. But it’s not all bad–just because you might soon forgo chicken cutlets Read more →
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’re probably aware that The Hunger Games comes out this Friday. Gah!
And while we can’t wait to see how the whole Panem will come to life on the big screen, we’re especially pumped to see what all our favorite characters will be wearing.
So, to quench our excitement, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to costume our favorite Hunger Games characters in clothes straight off the runway. From Katniss to Effie, and Valentino to McQueen, check out our fantasy runway outfits for the Hunger Games‘ major players.
The first few days of Paris have likely been a bit of a palette cleanser for the fashion crowd, with long lines of all black, gothic-inspired looks which diametrically oppose many of the popular trends so far in the fall 2012 collections, namely the all-over print. The city is home to its fair share of Read more →

We can’t knock her hustle–if we had to quickly lose all those pounds, we’d definitely want to get paid for it! {Us Weekly}
Back in June, news leaked that Gareth Pugh was doing a makeup line with his long-time runway collaborator, MAC. We got to meet and chat with the designer at an event back in July, where we ogled his nail polish and learned that the packaging was like a weapon. Well, now we finally get to see it in real life.
“With a collection that goes from strong, deep and mysterious to light, fragile, and ethereal, I think we’ve created a truly versatile collection that hopefully you’ll be inspired by and want to wear.” Gareth Pugh said in a release. And based on the individual pieces and the beauty look at left, we definitely want to wear it.
