It’s Hair Hats and Pegasus at Giles Spring 2013
Pure fashion fantasy, it was easily the most fun show we’ve been to all week–and the clothes were total editorial eye candy.

The designers of London fashion week sent out whimsical invitations that really appeal to the child in us: There were pop-up books from Burberry and Meadham Kirchhoff, a paint set (complete with a sketchbook) from Mulberry, and a credit card from Mark Fast (for the adult shopaholic in us).

People, it’s time to kiss humanity goodbye. Folks are snacking on peoples’ faces, grilling their unfaithful lovers’ lips, and chomping on their roommates’ hearts. The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us, and our undead friends are hungry for limbs, organs, and of course, braaaains. But it’s not all bad–just because you might soon forgo chicken cutlets Read more →
While Oscar nominees probably start preparing their outfits the day they’re nominated, we pulled some dress options straight from the Fall 2012 collections just in case any nominees have been procrastinating.
Luckily for us, tons of gorgeous, Oscar-worthy dresses hit the runway for Fall 2012, from some moody options at Gucci to slinky and sexy looks from Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung, and Zac Posen. Oh, and there’s Marchesa of course.
Click through our gallery to see what dresses we’d love to see on Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep, and all the other nominees. And be sure to tune in to the Academy Awards red carpet Sunday night to see what the nominees actually wear. You know we’ll have lots of thoughts on those come Monday morning…
Fashion month is halfway over now, with London and New York behind us. London was a whirlwind of shows, many of which took place over President’s Day weekend. In case you missed the coverage, we’ve rounded up our ten favorite collections from what was a very innovative and colorful five days in London.
We saw a diverse bunch of fall 2012 collections, from established British heritage designers to buzzy wunderkinds, and even a high street label or two. London fashion represents a lot of different lifestyles, and this season’s shows had something for everyone to love.

What will probably just look like an outlandish movie costume to most, will for fashion obsessives, immediately recall Giles Deacon’s spring 2012 collection and those masterful swan-shaped headpieces created by Stephen Jones.
Most people are content to go to Fashion Week and merely see the clothes. Not so these fashion A-listers. From Anna Dello Russo’s crazy swan hat to Anna Wintour’s pretty Prada skirt, this week saw models, editors and a socialite or two wearing Spring 2012 looks that had walked the runway mere days (or hours) beforehand.
It’s true critical reviews can make or break a collection–but so can one well-placed garment on an It Girl or fashion industry superstar. So it’s worth noting that Anna Wintour wore a Prada skirt (and that the Spring 2012 collection will no doubt be popping up sometime soon in Vogue)–or that despite getting generally slammed by critics, Dw by Kanye West seems to already have a few big-name fashion fans. Another name to jot down: Anthony Vaccarello, whose designs were favored by many an It girl and model. Vaccarello also won the ANDAM Fashion Award in July–but these recent endorsements have no doubt solidified him as a rising star in the industry.
Check out our favorite straight-off-the-runway looks as seen on many fashion notables. While the ladies certainly all look good, we shudder to think what this means for the already crazy pace of fashion design and production.
Let’s hope next spring is a sunny one because designers are putting their best lenses forward for spring 2012. From Giles’ kooky cartoon glasses to Rag & Bone’s goggle-like shades. Next spring’s eyewear isn’t joking around, but it certainly is funny looking. Would you wear such kooky sunglasses?
London fashion week is over, seemingly in the blink of an eye. But before Milan swoops in and steals all the glory, we wanted to give a shout out to the 10 collections we loved most in London. Brit designers gave us a lot of pastel and florals, a lot of color, and a lot of cheekiness.

We attended and reviewed as many shows as we could during London Fashion Week and had a great time doing it. Unfortunately, there were a few we couldn’t make it to, but we didn’t want you to miss out due to our inability to multiply ourselves. So, we added galleries from a few that we Read more →
Check out Giles Deacon’s gorgeous collection of metallics, swan prints and insane headpieces. He does conservative and over-the-top with equal precision. Can you believe those gowns at the end?
Let’s be honest, Kate Moss could have worn anything for her walk down the aisle with Jamie Hince and would have looked amazing.
While her Galliano-designed dress is absolutely stunning, it is a rather safe choice for the risk-taking style icon.
We’ve decided to bring you a roundup of all the best white looks from the runways, as a helpful comparison. Perhaps Moss should’ve gone a more wild route with a Viktor & Rolf creation or veered toward the classic in Narciso Rodriguez?
Check out the white ensembles we’ve selected. And let us know if you like Moss’ choice or think she could have gone more daring.
And remember, there’s still more Moss-mania to come – her reception dress is designed by Stella McCartney. Could it be one of the paillette options we’ve selected?
