The John Galliano comeback machine seems to be steadily in motion, despite the fact that his Parsons teaching gig fell through. The disgraced designer reportedly has a Vanity Fair interview in the works, and now we’re hearing reports that he may be hitting the small screen for a TV interview.
We’ve heard from just about everyone in the industry–from Oscar de la Renta, to Natalie Portman–on the subject of John Galliano’s anti-semitic rant, and now, possible comeback. Well, everyone, except the man himself. But now the wait is over: We’re finally going to get Galliano’s side of the story–straight from the source.
It looks like John Galliano’s teaching career is over even before it began.
According to an email sent to New School students (which was forwarded to us), Parsons has cancelled Galliano’s workshop.

It’s been a season of second, third, and even fourth chances. After stints at Perry Ellis, Paco Rabanne, and Gap, designer Patrick Robinson is once again staging a comeback–this time, as creative director of Armani Exchange.
Currently waiting in the wings is former Dior designer John Galliano, who has been assisting in Oscar de la Renta’s atelier and is purportedly in talks to teach at Parsons.

Expect the John Galliano vs. Dior labor dispute case to drag on for quite a while. In the latest development, the suit is moving to a French appeals court because the two sides are still splitting hairs over whether the case should be heard in a labor court, or a commercial court. That’s right–there’s yet to be a single argument heard.
