New show reviews and galleries are in! Check out Lacoste, Custo Barcelona, and Herve Leger.
French sportswear brand Lacoste celebrated its 80th anniversary at Lincoln Center during its fall 2013 collection. And the brand had much to celebrate. One of the more clever looks was a transparent raincoat made of latex with colors peeking through. Tops with oversized rounded sleeves, diagonal zippers, and sexy leather dresses went together suprisingly well. Read more →
Not even Nemo can stop the fashion crowd.
Billy Reid, Tommy Hilfiger, Rebeccca Minkoff, Yigal Azrouel, Monika Chiang, Tocca, Lacoste, Jill Stuart, Sun Jung Wan, Ruffian, Christian Siriano and Nautica, will be showing their collections as planned this afternoon, evening and tomorrow morning, respectively, when the storm is supposed to be at its worst, WWD is reporting.
Alexander Wang, Altuzarra, Lacoste, and Prabal Gurung, had the most buzzed about shows on Day 3 of NYFW. See what anyone who’s anyone had to say about the shows that had everyone–and we mean everyone talking.
Do you feel like you’re falling behind? Then get caught up with our fashion week coverage! Hervé Leger showed some quilt-inspired body-con dresses, Parke & Ronan put men in swimsuits (half naked men, come on!), and Lacoste took preppy into the future.
The Clothes: Staying true to your preppy pastime while modernizing your look for the future can’t be easy, but somehow Felipe Oliveira Baptista and co. made it look super simple by sending a plastic tennis shirt down the runway (which was entirely appropriate, as the show took place in the midst of a torrential thunderstorm). The Olympics begin today! Thinking of buying a Chanel-branded cell phone while vacationing in Paris this summer? (You totally were, right?) Well don’t, because you could go to jail for three years, as these clever new anti-counterfeit ads introduced today by French luxury goods association Comité Colbert make plain.
Happy Sunday! Check out Erin by Erin Fetherston‘s enchanted forest, Lacoste‘s sleek ski-bunnies, Jill Stuart‘s groovy rocker chicks, and Herve Leger‘s bondage babes. Enjoy all that and more on our dedicated fashion week page.
In his second collection for Lacoste, artistic director Felipe Oliveira Baptista not only continued sartorially to amp up the sporty image of the 79-year old brand, but he also magically made it a winter wonderland inside (as it was snowing outside). As a crowd of fashion insiders pushed their way into the Studio before the show, you could hear the collective gasps from attendees upon seeing these tall framed glass aquarium-like structures that bisected the runway. A bottleneck ensued as everyone started snapping pics on their iPhones and wondering what Baptista had in store.
The mood at the show channeled a low-key, insider affair as fashion-y guests air kissed one another and posed for pics before the show began. A New York Giants player was reportedly snacking on a pre-show muffin off the runway and a heavy foundation-wearing Kellan Lutz made such a low-key entrance that the paps didn’t even work themselves into a frenzy to take his picture. And thereby not giving me the signal that the beefy guy in a tight nautical shirt was indeed the Twilight hunk, until someone pointed it out right before the show started. Damn.
We interrupt your Sunday evening, to deliver this important message: More shows have been posted on our lovely Fashion Week page! Check out Lacoste’s sleek take on athletic wear, Antonio Azzuolo’s relaxed menswear, and Honor’s gorgeous collection (it’ll blow you away, literally.)
