Yesterday, we found out that Stella McCartney topped the UK’s Google Zeitgeist list in the fashion category. Today brings us the results from our side of the pond.
Thom Dolan may be a little known up-and-coming label, but designer Thomasine Dolan is actually an industry vet with 20 years under her belt. After years and years of working for big names like Ralph Lauren, Armani and Banana Republic, Dolan decided she was finally ready to tell her own story. In 2010 she launched her label with a few retro swimsuits, which quickly grew into a complete range of classic, masculine-meets-feminine pieces in high quality fabrics.
The busy New Yorker balances being a mom of three with running her growing business, both of which she does from her Broome St. apartment. She invited me into her amazing home (her studio is the floor below), and it was easy to get sidetracked as we discussed everything from her love of The Sound of Music to her dismay over the Kardashian phenomenon. One thing is certain, if you haven’t heard of this designer, who is as honest and witty as her designs, it’s time to take note. Read on to learn more.

It’s official: The series finale of Gossip Girl is a mere eleven episodes away. While many a cynic may argue that the show actually ended sometime during the second season, for us die-hard Upper East Side wannabes, this news is harder hitting than a Nairtini to the head.
Of course, what we’ll miss most of all is the fashion. Gossip Girl has been on top of the fashion game since its first “XOXO” way back in early 2007, and as the series progressed, the characters’ signature styles arguably surpassed the plot development in terms of critical praise.
Between Blair’s preppy headbands, Chuck’s dandy suits, and Serena’s gravity-defying cleavage, the influence the kids of Constance have had on street style and fashion spreads alike is undeniable. So, as a tearful ode to our favorite CW soap, here’s a look back at some of the style stand-outs that have made the last five years of impossible-to-follow plot lines a little more bearable.

We were bad reporters yesterday. Blaming “fashion week fatigue” as if it were a real illness seems lame (even though we were very very tired) so we’re owning up: Yesterday at Ralph Lauren we just plain missed it when Ryan Lochte greeted Anna Wintour by placing his hand on. her. bare. knee. His manager Erika Wright tweeted a photo of it, and if Anna felt Lochte had crossed the line she didn’t show it–she was all smiles.
Today was a perfect closing to our week of fashion madness. We saw shows from Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Brood, and Gerlan, and snapped permanent front row resident Ryan Lochte and street style stars Anna Dello Russo, Garance Doré, and Leaf Greener.
As for NYFW ending, we have mixed feelings, but BryanBoy knows how to sartorially celebrate its close. He dressed as a disco ball to mark the last day. Just click through to see the evidence.
