Roberto Cavalli Spring 2013

The Clothes: You really know we’re looking at a season with a ‘less is more’ philosophy when Roberto Cavalli, the king of opulence and animal prints, pares it down. Cavalli opened his show with a series of all-white looks that were surprisingly sedate, save for the intricate eyelet. Eventually the runway did give way to Read more →

Roberto Cavalli Delivered His Dog’s Puppies On His Yacht in the Middle of the Mediterranean…Oh and Also He’s Designing a Line for Target

Target is about to get an injection of la dolce vita (and some seriously loud animal prints) thanks to a new collaboration with Italian designer Roberto Cavalli. The late Alexander McQueen famously left his three beloved dogs the extremely generous (though probably under-appreciated) postmortem gift of £50,000. And while it’s safe to say that not all designers would go so far as to supply their pets with a year’s salary, it’s clear that their animal friends hold a dear place in their hearts.

We know that Roberto Cavalli was recently hanging out in Paris with pal Azzedine Alaia. Besides cooking couscous and noting that “mini skirts and mini pants” are totally in style right now, he also apparently picked up a new pet. Meet Oro the bird. (We think he’s a cockatoo, but ornithology is not our strong Read more →
