Fashion News Roundup: Candice Huffine Covers S Moda Nude, Mulberry’s Del Rey Bag is a Success and Karlie Kloss Raised a Ton of Money

Plus sized model Candice Huffine covers Spain’s S Moda Magazine, and of course, she hasn’t got a stitch of clothing on. I guess we can add ‘naked plus sized model’ to the list of de riguer fashion tropes like jumping models and Marilyn Monroe-inspired shoots. {Fashion Foie Gras}

Carine Roitfeld Documentary To Be Called Mademoiselle C., Will Feature Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford

A month ago, we reported that Carine Roitfeld would be the subject of a new documentary directed by Fabien Constant, who helped create that awesome mini-doc for W about the ex-Vogue editor’s exploits during couture week. Naturally, we couldn’t wait for more details to surface–and now they have.

According to Screen Daily, the new film will be called Mademoiselle C. and will be an “upbeat, fly-on-the-wall documentary” following Carine as she works on the launch of her new fashion magazine CR.

But it gets better:

Tom Ford’s Life and Career, In His Own Words

Tom Ford’s Life and Career, In His Own Words

Even if you think you know the history–or myth, in some cases–of Tom Ford’s design career, it’s a unique experience to be able to hear it told in the first person, by the man himself. We got to experience it Tuesday night at the 92nd Street Y for the latest “Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis” along with a stylish group of vente-privee members (that’s right, the fabulous member-only shopping site with brands like Wolford, Cavalli and Miraval Spa also offered VIP access to this amazing evening – have you signed up for your trip to Paris yet?) The room was packed and the 92nd Street Y even opened up a room for people to listen to a live simulcast; the only other person the Y has done that for was Woody Allen. We were rapt listening to him chat with Fern for an hour and a half about his childhood, his long and influential stint with the Gucci Group, and his future projects (like doing three movies someday).

Fashionista Week in Review: Vogue‘s Model Behavior, the 25 Most Influential Women Designers and Kate Upton Gets More Famous

One Small Step for Vogue: One giant step for fashion-kind. All 19 editions of Vogue announced this week they will no longer work with unhealthy-looking models or girls under 16.

Linda’s Child Support Demands: Making her “$10,000 to get out of bed” claims look downright tame, Linda Evangelista is asking for $46,000 a month in child support (that’s $552,000 a year). Unsurprisingly, the court battle is getting a little dirty.

Rules to Retail By: An anonymous ex-retail employee lays down the law when it comes to shopping. Learn it. Live it. Love it.

Tom Ford’s Naughty Lookbook: In typical Tom Ford style, his spring 2012 menswear lookbook features nudity and ass pinching.

Now You Can Maybe Afford Tom Ford at His New Outlet Store

Tom Ford is opening an outlet store. Tom Ford. Outlet. Do those words even make sense together? Well, they do now.

Lucky has confirmed that the designer is opening his very first outlet store at New York’s Woodbury Commons on July 15 (that date is tentative so don’t plan your day trip yet). Most high-end designers have outlet stores to move excess inventory but it still seems antithetical to the Tom Ford brand. Ford likes to keep things very high class, very exclusive, and very, very expensive so we’re a little surprised he’s given in to letting the masses on buses have at his wares. But nice that he’s giving us a shot at being able to afford a pair of sunglasses.

Will you be making the trip to Woodbury this summer?

Gwyneth Paltrow Breaks Down Her Oscar Look Step By Step

For most people getting ready for an event takes a few hours at most. But when you’re a star on the magnitude of Gwyneth Paltrow, and the event is the Oscars, months of time, effort and politics can go into picking the right dress and ensuring the night goes off without a sartorial hitch. Today on Goop, Gwynnie gives us a glimpse at the months-long process that went into her looking fab in Tom Ford at the Oscars.

Of course, the journey to the Best Dressed List begins with a dress. For Gwyneth, the responsibility of finding the perfect Oscars gown falls squarely on the shoulders of her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman, who says the job is a “long process that begins the moment when the nominees are announced and doesn’t end until the moment she steps onto the red carpet.” Saltzman starts by calling certain designers (she usually works with two or three) and seeing if they have anything special in mind for the big event and making sure they aren’t dressing anyone else too similarly. The designer, in turn, will send over sketches of possible gown options and Saltzman will “gently try to make tweaks that [she knows] will work for [her] particular client,” keeping in mind her client’s body, coloring, and confidence level.

Sarah Jessica Parker Wishes Anna Sophia Robb Good Luck: To congratulate her on her role as a young Carrie Bradshaw in the CW’s upcoming The Carrie Diaries, Sarah Jessica Parker sent Anna Sophia Robb a nice letter of encouragement, from one Carrie to the next. {Us Weekly}
