Shop It Now: The CFDA, Vogue and Tory Burch Team Up for a Huge 50% Off Designer Sale To Benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief

The CFDA team has been pretty busy lately. Tuesday night was the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event and last night, they feted a huge Sandy relief sale, which is open to the public today until 8pm. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Diane von Furstenberg, Anna Wintour, Steven Kolb, and Tory Burch were in attendance.

Even before arranging the sale, the CFDA put together an online auction, through which you can bid on things like a week long stay at Diane von Furstenberg’s Harbor Island home, lunch with Gwyneth Paltrow and Mario Batali, and attending a fashion show with Anna Wintour and the Vogue editors.

Today’s sale came together pretty serendipitously.

Tory Burch Diplomatically Addresses that Ugly Lawsuit with Ex Chris Burch on CNN

Is there anything that rattles Tory Burch?

Here’s another reason to watch as the nasty legal battle between Tory Burch and ex-husband/business partner Chris continues to unfold: The judge on the case sounds like he’s going to be hilarious.

The 5 Most Buzzed About Shows From Day 6

Facing fashion fatigue? Us too. However! The Mulleavys‘ medieval warrior princesses in bad-ass laser-cut heels march on. Tuesday critics lanced a few barbs (shades of Balenciaga, anyone?), but were surprisingly receptive to a broad array of world traveler-inspired styles fit for women on the go. Perhaps the biggest surprise was at Narciso Rodriguez, where the designer stepped out of his greige-y comfort zone and was loaded for a career-high performance. Find out which other shows had everyone buzzing on day 6.

Kate Spade Rumored To Be Launching New Lower Priced Line To Compete with Madewell, C.Wonder

The New York Daily News is reporting that Kate Spade New York is planning to launch a lower priced line called Kate Spade Saturday. According to the News, the line is positioned to compete directly with Chris Burch’s controversial line C.Wonder (which has come under fire for looking too similar to the line Burch started with his wife, Tory Burch).

We hear from a source that this new project has indeed been in the works for the last six months, but that it will look more Madewell than C.Wonder. Though, given Kate Spade’s signature Brad Goreski-aided, clean, bright, colorful-yet-classic aeshetic, a lower-priced version might look a bit like C. Wonder by default.
