1. Did Lindsay need Brad to tell her that she’s wearing a bright color with a neutral? Didn’t she probably know what colors she was wearing?

2. Doesn’t Cleo kind of seem like a better and harder-working and more professional assistant than Brad’s actual assistant?

3. Is Andrea Olivieri wearing a gown at this photo shoot?

4. How is a look going to be “aspirational and approachable?” And how is an open cardigan with nothing underneath something that people would actually wear? Just wondering.

Vanity Fair’s 2012 Hollywood issue is here, and it’s jam-packed with stylish and talented actresses. This is the first-ever VF Hollywood cover that Mario Testino’s shot, and the three page fold-out cover features Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling. VF‘s fashion director, Jessica Diehl, styled the ladies in an Art Deco/Jazz Age fantasy, and the results are pretty spectacular. We vote Shailene Woodley (whose look at the SAG’s landed her on a lot of “worst dressed” lists) as most improved, and Rooney Mara as “best flapper bob.” The icy, satiny pastels and dramatic makeup looks just scream Hollywood glamor. Sorry Cathy Horyn, until the Great Gatsby comes out next December it looks like we’re just going to keep getting hit over the head with the ’20s. Read more »

1. Wouldn’t Ladurée have made more sense for this challenge?

2. Why didn’t everyone protest the assignment and make a rainbow assortment of wrap dresses?

3. Don’t you think this six hour challenge only happened because DVF had to catch the red-eye to Gstaad later that night?

4. Isn’t it kind of funny that this week’s mini-Mood was the size of an ordinary fabric store?

5. On what other show would a Rowenta product placement make sense? Kind of genius.

It’s becoming pretty clear to us that Azealia Banks, the 20-year-old Laguardia HS grad whose dirty lyrics (and genuine talent) have everyone’s attention, is poised to take the fashion world by storm as well. In fact, in a remarkably short time (basically one trip to Paris), she already has. When Nicola Formichetti tweeted at her a couple of weeks ago (and made us wonder if she was the next Lady Gaga), that was just the tip of the iceberg. Read more »

Between Project Runway, NBC’s upcoming Fashion Star, and 24 Hour Catwalk, you’d think we’d have enough fashion reality TV show competitions to go around. But, no, Rihanna thinks there should be one more. The popstar is set to launch her own version of a Project Runway-style show in the UK on the Sky Living network, which will search for the “the next generation of raw, undiscovered designer talent,” according to Sky Living.

But there’s a twist:

As we’re sure you’ve heard, nominations were announced today for the most important red carpet film awards ceremony of the year. And you know us. Instead of speculating on who’s going to win, we speculate on what everyone’s going to wear. In all betting games, there’s a safe choice and a risky one. So, we’ve [...]

We reported a few weeks ago that the Capitol Couture Tumblr (the Lionsgate tumblr devoted to Hunger Games fashion and beauty) had soft launched, and now it’s live. Needless to say, we’ve wasted quite a bit of our morning on it–TOTALLY WORTH IT. In addition to the mesmerizing plot, fashion plays a really big role in the story, and it’s looking like it’s going to be pretty striking on screen. While still pics have been slowly leaking over the past few weeks, Capitol Couture gives us a bit more information about the labels we’ll see in the movie.

If 2011 was the year of the high profile wedding, 2012 is shaping up to be the year of the celeb divorce. After a weekend of speculation about whether or not Heidi Klum and Seal were ending their marriage, they’ve put all rumors to rest by issuing a joint statement to People:

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

1. First things first, didn’t The Muppets come out about two months ago?

2. Isn’t this show’s lack of a German accent throwing you off?

3. What happened to Austin’s voluminous back-bow concept? And how did it transform into a side-saddle fanny pack bow on each hip?

4. Anthony, why aren’t you embarrassed at your lack of ability to install a zipper? On the all-star series of all places?

Looks like Kris Jenner doesn’t get her way all the time. Early this month we learned that the Kardashians were shopping a Kardashian mag, with all editorial content to be supplied (and controlled) by the Kardashians themselves.

What had people scratching their heads was that the negotiations were reportedly taking place with American Media Inc. (AMI), who owns Star (among other titles). Star broke the story about the Kardashians allegedly using child labor sweatshops to produce some of their products, and the back-and-forth got pretty ugly. So why would the family want to work with a company that was publishing such unsavory stuff about them?
