Temperley London’s sister line, ALICE by Temperley, is one of the latest fashion brands to take over New York’s favorite weekend getaway. The affordable line has a boutique in East Hampton, where they will kick off the Where’s ALICE bike tour this weekend.

When we first heard about this bike tour, we were a bit worried it would involve us biking around in 90 degree heat. Thankfully, the bikes will only be ridden by various “guest riders”–girls in ALICE by Temperley looks, handing us frozen treats from People’s Pops and collecting raffle entries for a $1000 ALICE wardrobe. Phew.

Wondering how you’ll find the bike?

This past weekend, we decided to escape the city and venture out to the Hamptons to celebrate the 4th with Kanon Organic Vodka and NYC hangout The Smile. We figured the combination of unbearable heat, a swimming pool, a color-themed holiday and fashion people would bring about some noteworthy style and we were right. After a couple of Kanon’s “Red, White and Blueberry,” cocktails (yes, they actually were really good) we decided to start documenting.

The event had a decidedly laid-back vibe; many partygoers like Harley Viera-Newton left the red and blue at home and opted for chic white ensembles. Maybe they were going to some kind of P. Diddy White Party after? Does that still happen? Click through for this party’s best dressed.

Last Spring, a tricked-out Topshop truck showered the city with gift cards and tote bags in anticipation of the store’s opening. Since this Wednesday, the same truck has been on a promotional tour around the city. We wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so we decided to, quite literally, get our hands dirty and head over to McCarren Park in Billyburg for Day 3.

What we found was a full-on t-shirt customization workshop, so we grabbed a free tee, and with some help and inspiration from a few well-dressed Topshop employees, gave it a full-on Fashionista makeover. While ours was certainly not the most intricate or detailed, it was pretty easy to make and we are proud of it, so here are some step-by-step instructions in case you want to make your own!

We will forgive these three for wearing sunglasses inside, just this once. Last night, at the Sunglass Hut Flagship store on Fifth Avenue, we watched Jessica Szohr, Alexis Bledel and Emmy Rossum try on some pretty cute shades in celebration of the new Vogue Eyewear/CFDA Capsule Collection. We thought this was a pretty random choice of celeb guests and were wondering where Rachel Bilson was, until we realized each pair of sunglasses was pretty well-suited to these three girls. By the way, Alexis Bledel is GORGEOUS in person.

CFDA members Devi Kroell, Matt Murphy and Kara Ross were each selected to design a pair of sunglasses for a special capsule collection to be sold under the Vogue Eyewear brand.

LONDON—We love when serious museums turn their curatorial eyes to fashion, but all too often, the rigid display protocols and protective measures can make style exhibitions as stiff as a mannequin’s port de bras.

So it was with a mix of excitement and curiosity that we headed to Kensington’s Blythe House for The Concise Dictionary of Dress, a special collaborative fashion exhibition concocted by a costume curator and a psychologist.

The exhibition is organized around eleven ‘definitions’ (more like evocative associations) of the words armored, comfortable, conformist, creased, pretentious, fashionable, tight, measured, essential, plain and loose. Guides lead small groups on an hour-long journey through the building, pausing at installations that illustrate each word.

We began on the roof and spent the next hour descending through the floors.

Yesterday afternoon we headed over to Clarins’ offices for a preview of Thierry Mugler‘s new fragrance. What we got was an incredibly in-depth and surprisingly interesting tutorial on all that went into the fragrance, which was apparently a lot of time, money and planning. The execution of the preview itself blew us away. Everything in the room, from the lighting to the cocktails to the liquid inside the perfume bottles, was pink. The hors d’œuvres included caviar and figs, which we would later come to find out out are two of the scent’s main ingredients.

The name of the fragrance is, um, Womanity. There was a whole lot of waxing philosophical on the inspiration behind this name, which we will spare you. However, we did find it pretty hilarious that Donna Summers, unaware of Mugler’s fragrance, is apparently coming out with a song called “Womanity,” and the people at at Clarins/Thierry Mugler are desperately trying to work out some kind of collaboration.

Tonight at the CFDA Awards, actor Anthony Mackie said that the event really is like the Oscars of fashion. As one of the few people in the crowd who has attended both ceremonies, he should know.

And it did seem like an abbreviated, less-hokey Academy Awards.

There were skits–Diddy starred in a short that introduced the menswear nominees–celebrity presenters–Isabella Rossellini, Jessica Biel–and even some heartfelt speeches.

Stay-tuned tomorrow for our round-up of the evening’s best-dressed. And now, the winners:

Six months after the announcement that “fashion’s invisible man” would be walking away from his eponymous label, Maison Martin Margiela 20: The Exhibition opens at Somerset House, home to London Fashion Week‘s catwalks.

The retrospective showcases 20 years of the label’s groundbreaking work and originates from the Mode Museum in Antwerp. The Belgian designer was unanimously considered to be the 7th member of the Antwerp 6, a group of avant-garde designers (including Ann Demulemeester, Dries Van Noten and Walter Van Beirendock) who literally turned the ’80s power dressing cliche inside-out with deconstruction and innovative pattern cutting.

Curator Kaat Debo worked in tandem with Maison Martin Margiela to illustrate for the public the basic principles behind the highly conceptual brand, whose ethos has been at odds with the mainstream, often alienating all but fashion’s illuminati.

There are few people who can get me out of bed at 7:30am on a Saturday morning. Behati Prinsloo is one of them. The Victoria’s Secret PINK store celebrated its grand opening in SoHo on Saturday, so I crawled out from under the covers and headed downtown. Doors opened to customers at 10am, but I [...]
