Now this sounds like a very cool opportunity.
Bergdorf Goodman Social Media is looking for a spring intern or two. And you’ll actually be working on some cool projects like updating their Facebook page, contacting vendors and designers, photographing special events and designer appearances, connecting with the publicity department, and other regular intern tasks and research.
And we’re pretty sure a bunch of you guys are exactly the kind of people they’re looking for—someone who is creative, clever, familiar with the collections they carry, totally comfortable chatting up designers and high-profile customers, and crafty with FB, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and the like. As far as computer skills go you should know Photoshop, InDesign, and have some knowledge of HTML code. If you already have your own blog, even better.

Didn’t think you’d be able to find a great design internship until next semester? Think again.
Helmut Lang needs an intern, immediately, for the rest of this year and into next.
Candidates need to be available a minimum of two full days per week, but ideally would be able to do three or more. You’ll be working in the design department, and would help the team create flats (candidates must know how to flat by hand), prepare boards, organize and maintain notebooks, and assist with creating cut tickets.

If the sentence, Isaac Mizrahi needs interns doesn’t make you a little excited, then we’re not quite sure what to say.
Fashion’s most fun character is looking for both styling and design help for the upcoming semester and we really can’t think of a better way to spend your time if you’re trying to break into the industry.
On the design front, you would assist in sketching, making boards, organizing trim
books, and helping out with design projects. Fun! Some experience with Adobe Illustrator would be even more helpful but is not 100% required.

A great thing about internships at fashion PR firms is that they can often lead to a second internship for one of the great designers they rep.
That’s what keeps happening over at the Krupp Group, hence their need for a new crop. Many of their alums have gone on to work for Philip Crangi, Lela Rose, Rachel Comey and Joy Gryson. Sounds like a great perk to us!
The lovely publicists are looking for folks who are dynamic, responsible and available 4-5 days a week starting now and going at least through NY Fashion Week in February.
Interested parties should go ahead and send their resumés and brief descriptions of themselves to cdionisio@kruppgroup.com, stat.
As you well know, most fashion and beauty internships don’t pay a salary.
But finally, we’ve got one that does! Guess is looking for someone to work in their public relations department for…$10/hour.
You’ll be trafficking samples, keep the showroom all nice and presentable, maintaining the databases, and helping out with press previews and market appointments for Guess, Guess by Marciano, and G by Guess.
They’re looking for candidates that are at least sophomores in college, but recent grads can feel free to apply too.
And you get paid. Hooray!! If you’re interested, click here to apply.
The sales team over at Diane von Furstenberg is looking for a few good interns to start ASAP. If you’re into the business side of the industry, we can’t think of a better place to learn as DvF really has the best accounts.
It’s a bit of a commitment, however. They need you 4-5 days a week for at least four months and you can receive school credit, but recent grads are welcome too. There will be a stipend of $20/day which you can think of as your commute/lunch money.

We can’t really think of two nicer or more fun (not to mention talented) people to work for than Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra. They work on every last bit of the process themselves and they’re looking for some intern help.
The duo would prefer that you have a little experience but it’s not required. They told us they just want someone who’s a hard worker and can commit to two or three days a week. You need to be willing to run errands, interact with the factory, and take care of some of the minor office duties.
Email your resumes and cover letters to info@jcrt.net and know that if you’re hired, you’ll learn lots and have a very good time doing it.
If you love fashion and have a deep desire to understand the business, there’s really not a better place to learn than WWD.
Their closet sees every designer’s goods from Chanel to the one you haven’t even heard of yet…which sounds like a pretty darn good place for an intern to be. Currently the editors are looking for both fashion and accessories folks to help man said closet.
You know the drill about organization, details, pace and whatnot. But location scouting, sample trafficking, and assisting on shoots are also in the mix.
Seriously, this is an amazing opportunity that could put you in touch with all the people you’ll want to know later, so we highly suggest getting your credentials into the right hands quickly.
Email your cover letters (including start date) and resumés to wwdinterns@gmail, like right now. Oh and it’s unpaid, in New York, and you need to get school credit.
Good luck!!
Attention, aspiring stylists, Fashionista here and we’ve got an opportunity for you. J. Logan Horne who styles none other than Queen Bee Leighton Meester herself is looking for some help.
Obviously, you need to be fashion-obsessed, and a little experience with a stylist or in a fashion closet would be helpful, but isn’t required. This is definitely a paying dues kind of job, so you’ll be doing loads of returns. But we’ve found it’s the best way to learn the collections…you get to see so many amazing pieces. You really learn how the system works. And really, we’ve all been there.
They’re looking for someone who’s available 2-3 days a week. If you’re interested, send your resumes to Cassie at jlhassistant@gmail.com
xoxo
Want to break into the modeling world…on the business side? Here’s your chance.
Women is looking for few good interns, and just maybe that’s you.
Things that will help you get the job: Knowing the girls who work and who should be working, an obsession with fashion, magazines, and all things photographic. Oh, and the ability to always do what is asked of you—from organizing a girl’s book to making sure the comp cards are client-ready.
If this sounds like you, send your resumé and cover letter to joaquin@women-direct.com. And of course, give us the exclusive when someone books a big campaign.
First up, public relations firm Maguire Steele whose clients include Shipley & Halmos, Florsheim by Duckie Brown, Billy Reid, Odin Fragrances, and up and comer, Timo Weiland.
They’re small, but great so you’ll have tons to do including trafficking samples, prepping lookbooks and editor gifts (yes, that means mailing them out too!), managing press clips, assisting with events, maintaining the database (aka a priceless way to get to know who’s who), and generally keeping the showroom looking nice and pretty.
The internship, like so many in fashion, is unpaid but you may receive academic credit. And also like the others, you need to be a wicked multi-tasker, strong communicator, organized, detail-oriented, with lots of energy and a need to learn and grow.
You’ll need to make a three day a week commitment and the hours are 10 am to 7 pm. Email your resumes and cover letters to megan@maguiresteele.com
>That’s right, kids, Proenza Schouler’s on the lookout for new interns. [Insert excited screams here.] They told us themselves at the MAC/Milk forum that a huge chunk of their company’s employees are interns and we saw them running around town in The Day Before so we know you’ll be put to useful work.
Here’s the deal: They’re looking for design, production, and sales interns available to start now and make at least a two full day per week commitment for three months, but the more days you can work, the better. Bonus: You don’t need to be a student to apply.
You should be dedicated, independent, responsible, multi-tasking, hard-working, and have an all-around good attitude. Plus, you’ll need a working knowledge of garment construction and fabrics.

Still haven’t locked up your fall internship? No worries. There are still some good ones for the taking.
The public relations, sales, merchandising, and design teams at both Kate and Jack Spade are interviewing right this second. Their internships are really hands-on and busier than ever with the newly launched apparel line.
It’s probably a good idea that you’re familiar with (and like) the distinct Spade aesthetic, have impeccable organizational skills and are ready to make a real commitment to your gig. And school credit is a must.
Details after the jump.

Everyone knows V threw one of the sickest parties of the week after the MJ show, complete with Gaga at a piano. They’re also looking for a new intern for the vmagazine.com and vman.com, which if you’re lucky just might give you a leg up getting into their next big bash.
You don’t need to be getting college credit but you do need to be seriously fashion knowledgeable, incredibly web savvy, and ready, willing and able to commit to three to five days a week. Skill sets also necessary: Photoshop, CSS, HTML, and Flash. If you know After Effects, you’ll earn some major bonus points.
Email your resumés and cover letters to ryand@vmagazine.com
Fournier Comminications is a public relations firm that has a portfolio of luxury European beauty brands for clients and they’re looking for fall interns. Can you say product closet??
Your responsibilities will include press kits, event planning, maintaining clip files, client interaction and administrative functions. And it’s a smaller operation so you’ll actually get to help out in the strategic planning of new product launches. Translation: major hands-on beauty PR experience.
But to get to do all that, you need to have amazing computer and phone skills and be available for at least three days a week.

Nothing like waiting until the very last minute!
Halston needs Fashion Week interns, which basically means they need you to start Tuesday morning and help them with their presentation.
This means dressing models, sitting at the front of house during buying appointments and assisting both the PR and sales teams. It’s unpaid (duh), but it’s such a small company that you’ll get some serious hands on experience.
You obviously have to be in New York (or willing to come here and put yourself up next week) and should be a super fast, enthusiastic learner. Prior experience a plus, love of fashion high energy and awesome attitude are a must.
Send a very brief cover letter and your resume to internships@halston.com, Attn: Lisa.
We’ve probably said this at least three times by now, but really, this is a dream internship.
Like, if you’re in school, we’d highly recommend skipping eight days of class (well only six because two are weekend days) and getting yourself to New York to hang out with the photographers of StyleSightings. They need a Fashion Week intern to help photograph parties, shows, cool people etc. for the street style site.
Peter [Miszuk] suggests you “know something somewhat about cameras,” but we’d suggest knowing a bit more. If you question whether or not you know enough, you probably don’t. You should also be super into fashion and the people behind it, ie. you should be able to recognize the major players.
Plus, you need to be excited, enthusiastic, friendly, personable and fun to hang with.
If that’s you, email stylesightings@stylesight.com and we’ll see you around.
For the less business-minded, more creative types, there’s always your stylist internship.
Katie Mossman’s worked with Numero, Bazaar and a handful of international Vogues and she’d like some help for fall (at least, maybe longer), two to three days a week (working with a stylist can be all consuming, don’t be shocked if those days include weekends).
You’ll help on set, preparing stories, dressing models, ironing, steaming, organizing the closet, tracking samples and with general administrative tasks.
The job will be easier if you have a Blackberry or iPhone and you know the city like the back of your hand. Basically, she wants interns who are extremely motivated, would kill for the position and have no problem waking up at 5am for an outdoor shoot in the snow.
If that’s you, email Katiemossmanintern@gmail.com with a very short cover letter and your resume.
We were swarmed by NYU kids moving into their dorms this weekend, which means school must start soon which means if you don’t already have an internship you’re probably freaking out.
Don’t worry. John Varvatos still needs help - anywhere from two to four people worth of help. The positions, in the PR department, call for at least two days a week from 9:30 to 6:30, working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Photoshop and a serious interest in fashion PR. You should also, of course, be a hardworking, enthusiastic, ambitious team player.

Phillip Lim needs some PR help and
a) You don’t have to be a student.
b) They’ll cover your transportation costs.
c) They’ll pay for lunch (though you probably won’t be eating at Mercer Kitchen)
But to win those things you must be dependable, detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task. Also, you need good communication skills & phone etiquette, Microsoft Apps efficiency and two to three days of availability.
