There’s no doubt as to who the model of the season is.
Cara Delevingne, in all her goofy-faced glory, has walked damn near every major runway in New York and London, landed her first Vogue UK cover, and commands a massive audience on social media (over 470,000 followers on Twitter, 747,000 on Instagram). And while we know she can walk, today we learned something new about the Brit beauty: She can also sing!
Fashion week is almost over and it’s Valentine’s Day. We figured this was the perfect way to celebrate. Aren’t they pretty?
A handful of Dannijo “girl crushes”–cool chicks that designer sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder love and feature on their blog–came to pay their respects at the brand’s presentation yesterday at the Jane Hotel.
Among them was model and model rights champion Coco Rocha. She took time out from gleefully tweeting and Instagramming (the girl loves her social media) to tell us how she feels about the CFDA’s controversial partnership with Organic Avenue and the differences between her, Naomi Campbell, and Karolina Kurkova on new model reality TV show The Face.
Stop thinking about Nemo and appropriate footwear for fashion week for just one second: Gisele has posted a photo on Facebook, and it’s of her two month old daughter Vivian Lake. Vivian is adorable in her white ruffled dress, straight chillin’ in Hawaii while her hometown of Beantown gets pummelled by Nemo.
If you haven’t heard, yet another modeling competition show called The Face is about to make its debut and it has a few big names behind it: ANTM cast-off Nigel Barker, Coco Rocha, Karolina Kurkova, and Naomi Campbell. Campbell hopped on a conference call with me and some other journalists to chat about her new gig. Yes, I got to listen to Naomi Campbell talk on the phone for an hour. It was pretty unreal.
The February issue of Vogue Italia is here!
Naomi Campbell smizes, dons several wigs, and gives full-on blue steel–while her voice-over talks in a creepy, stream-of-conscious way about snakes, and having no face, among other things.
If you were getting your hopes up about seeing Kate Upton strut down the fall runways, let us dash them for you: It’s not happening.
That Claudia Schiffer made any missteps throughout her illustrious (and still going strong) modeling career is hard to believe. The blue-eyed blonde has been the face of everything from Chanel to Guess (twice), covered Vogue innumerable times and was even immortalized in Zoolander.
However, even supermodels who look like Brigitte Bardot suffer from regrets and missed opportunities, like, you know not getting an Hermès bag named after you.
Last week, the CFDA announced it was partnering with Organic Avenue to provide models with support and education as well as a 50% discount on all the retailer’s food and juices during fashion week through March 31.
The collaboration comes after models complained about the “difficulty of finding food that is both nutritious and convenient” during fashion week, and is part of the CFDA‘s ongoing efforts to address the working conditions models face and raise awareness about eating disorders within the industry.
The program has already faced severe criticism from numerous mainstream media outlets. But, in our opinion, it’s for all the wrong reasons.
