We Cook Green Papaya Salad (Som Tam!) with Chrissy Teigen and Her Mom in Our Next Episode of Haute Cuisine…Coming Soon

We traveled all the way to Los Angeles this month to cook alongside one of our favorite Tweeters of all time: Chrissy Teigen. The supermodel and huge foodie (just take look at her mouthwatering blog, SoDelushious.com) is known to tweet photos of herself getting spray-tanned (naked!) go after tweeters who make unsavory comments (Chris Brown fans!) and be refreshingly candid whenever possible.

Now the host of the new Vh1 show, The Model Employee, which just premiered earlier this month, Teigen is busy planning her fairy tale wedding to one of our favorite R&B crooners, John Legend.

Watch as we get a lesson in Thai cuisine from Teigen and Mommy Teigen, while talking fashion, modeling, and those pesky haters.

Did Gwyneth Paltrow Pre-Game Too Hard Before the Met Gala?

Despite the fact that Gwyneth Paltrow was totally miserable at the Met Gala and is never going back, she featured it on this week’s edition of goop.

In what may be a clue as to why she had such a horrible time, there is a big frosty dirty martini featured in one of the behind-the-scenes shots. Hard liquor, plus a long sleeved gown and a hot room, plus probably not eating anything before she hit the red carpet, could definitely equal misery. And we know how Gwyneth feels about martinis…

Emma Watson really is all grown up, as evidenced in her June 2013 W cover shoot, lensed by Michael Thompson. {W}

We’re not sure who got luckier–Prince Harry or Karolina Kurkova. The two shared a chaste smooch at a polo match on the last day of the prince’s US tour. {US Weekly}

Here’s the 16-piece Kate Bosworth-inspired collection by Topshop, which the actress herself wore at Coachella in April. {Vogue UK}

Julia Nobis Too Thin to Cover T? Deborah Needleman Doesn’t Think So

While we see T as more of a fashion magazine, many New York Times subscribers probably don’t. As people who look at images from fashion magazines and runways on a daily basis, we didn’t give this T cover featuring Julia Nobis in a swimsuit and leather jacket a second thought–at least not for any other reason than the impracticality of wearing a leather jacket over a swimsuit.

However, several readers–whose eyes are probably less accustomed than ours to seeing unrealistically thin people everywhere—complained about how shockingly thin and underage Nobis looked on the cover and in the accompanying editorial.

Deborah Needleman, T‘s EIC, however, disagrees.

Abercrombie & Fitch Joins Bangladesh Safety Accord as Other American Retailers Develop Competing Initiative

Abercrombie & Fitch Joins Bangladesh Safety Accord as Other American Retailers Develop Competing Initiative

Abercrombie and Fitch has become only the second American brand, after Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger parent company PVH, to sign the Bangladesh fire and safety accord, WWD is reporting. The retailer joins the 30 some companies–mostly European–who have signed onto the IndustriALL Global Union-led agreement including H&M, Zara, Topshop, Mango, Bennetton, and Joe Fresh.

Gap and Wal-Mart, two of the world’s biggest retailers who routinely produce out of Bangladesh, still have not signed the accord. Wal-Mart revealed on Tuesday it would be pursuing it’s own initiative to improve worker safety in Bangladesh–and now it looks like other American retailers will be following a similar path.

10 International Style Stars to Watch Out for at Cannes

Aside from its sheer length, one thing that differentiates Cannes from other red carpet events is the fact that it’s international, meaning the American style stars we all know and see on the covers of magazines every day will be mingling on the red carpet with equally well-heeled actresses we may not recognize.

For every Diane Kruger or Carey Mulligan, there’s a Fan Bingbing or an Aishwarya Rai. So, we’ve compiled a little guide to 10 sure-to-be Cannes it-girls from overseas that you’ll probably be seeing a lot of.
