Boys Wearing Mascara?

Jun 27, 2008 @ 7:04pm

great lash.jpgI know that most of you have heard about the cosmetic line for men at H&M, which includes bronzer and mascara.

I'm eighteen and wear mascara every day.

But I'm wondering:

If you saw a boy with long, dark lashes, would you assume he was just lucky?

Or would "maybe it's Maybelline" come to mind?

^ That's why DC isn't the fashion capital? ..

Anyway, I love it. She reminds me of M.I.A and I feel that if Dov Carney of American Apparel started doing work for say, MARIMEKKO, this would be the end result.

Kate. I think it looks better against her blonde hair. Selma looks a little cartoon-y in it.

Of course, I'd have to see the shoes to be sure.

Hmm. I've never been a fan of bellbottoms, or any wide leg pant for that matter, but aside from that this is simply ...

Brilliant.

These are fantastic.

I want to wear them with a dark blue skinny jean or maybe a slim fit corduroy in the same color as the soles. I love.

This post was grossly pretentious, if you ask me. And besides, I doubt the film is even really intended for women who actually lead these sort of lives. A woman who is given a wedding gown by Vivienne Westwood personally isn't going out on a Saturday night to watch a movie about it. I mean, come on.

It's the open-mouthed admiration of middle class soccer moms and gay men with thinning hairlines that the producers are after. Obviously.

To put it in perspective, how many VOGUE employees do you think were at the premier? Precisely.

I agree with Kenya. I don't think what she's saying is mean at all. "Guest", it was rude to attack the editors like that. Some of us appreciate random, quirky tidbits like this. This isn't CBS, or FOX News, so get over yourself.

Besides, you've been studying the Thesaurus and not the Dictionary so you have work to do. I expect that anyone who can use the word "bated" in a sentence can spell all of the rest of their words correctly and throw in some punctuation every once and a while. Comments like that are obnoxious. Spare us.

This is a cool look for a tshirt, and maybe a cardigan. Perhaps a chunky plastic bangle.

But a Louboutin? Ahem ..

I have a little trouble with this only because I'm so OCD and if it doesn't look like something a professional PR firm has put together, I would be squirming in my seat.

No way I could sit through 20 minutes of mall fashions and crepe paper streamers.

I mean .. Armani isn't exactly known for his prowess in advertising. The only ad of his I sincerely enjoyed was Beyonce's for Diamonds. She's so lovely.

As for Joshy boy, this isn't the most flattering picture, but I do think he's sufficiently handsome.

I don't think she was totally appropriate in making this comment, but there is a whole lot of truth to it. Like I said before, though, the movie wasn't intended to target fashion professionals, or even fashion obsessed lemmings like myself.

People who lead lives that are reminiscent to that of the characters in the SATC story aren't out on a Friday night seeing a movie about it. This movie was made for PTA mothers in Jersey and their girlfriends.

It is a little reminiscent of an Urban Outfitters catalog, but I love it anyway. I, too, am a sucker for the old Polaroid looking pictures, like these.

I think someone called this "sunbleached"? I love it.

The picture is Viktor&Rolf but I'll agree with guest 6:27. It must be Duckie Brown F/W 08. It was spectacular .. YouTube it. You can catch a bit of commentary at the end of the video from some of the audience.

But they said silent "runways". Plural. I know that was Duckies only silent runway so maybe it is V&R. I don't watch their shows, though, so who knows. My money is on DB.

Taylor is gorgeous, but I never expected her to be picked up. I also didn't realize she was only 14?! WOW.

I'd rather see her as the new face of Chanel (Sorry, Emma).

I recently saw knockoff Louboutins at an EXPRESS store, to my dismay.

His craftsmanship is unlike anything else.Just the other day I got a tattoo of a pinup girl wearing six inch Loubs.

Dior ... Lacroix ... Not even close!

I love sheer tops! I think if a woman if confident enough to wear it, and her body type allows for such exposure, great!

Side note, I'm pretty sure the dress comes like that (with the underoos). Stephanie Seymour wore the same one to the Met Gala.

Hellonheels said it best. Wedges are just a passing fad.

I would buy a classic shoe from a less expensive designer. You mentioned Prada -- find something from their new line that you enjoy. Invest the money in two or three (maybe even four) timeless pieces.
