Thank you Vivienne! After watching that shameless two and half hour commercial all my friends and I could do was talk about how embarrassed Vivienne Westwood must feel to have her name associated with such garbage.

doesn't that bag remind anyone of the Tom Ford era Spring 2003 YSL Nadja bag?

Honestly as much as those red soles are lovely and amazing I don't think they are worth it. Pointy-toed stilettos are coming back in style anyway. If it was like 2 years ago I would totally have said go for it, but I feel like everyone is getting a little Louboutin fatigue from all the overexposure.
I say take the money you saved up and buy 2 or 3 really great pieces. Right now high end designer stores are in sale mode and you can probably find something a little more unique and individual that will show of your personal style more than a red sole.

No bra/sheer bra/perky nips peeking through is totally a trend. But exposed breast with areola and everything flashing the world is quite another thing. I had a pool party last year and a girl showed up in a flesh colored American Apparel Bikini Top. Once she jumped in the pool there was really no point to her even wearing a bathing suite, you could see everything (and I mean everything). I hate on her, but at the same time I was awestruck at how much confidence she had. But then again who wouldn't be confident if they were a skinny hipster girl with perky boobs?
I say if you have the body and the confidence to flash some perky nips go for it. But if you are a more modest type forgo the American Apparel.

If you want pictures to start building your portfolio:
Get on websites like http://www.modelmayhem.com/ and craigslist. Check out the photography/art schools in your area. Photography students usually can't get girls from agencies unless they are super good and have connections so they are always on the hunt for models (or model sized girls) to shoot.
If you want to get signed to an agency go to as many agencies as you can and try to get picked up.
Don't under any circumstances spend money for people to take your picture. Honestly you don't need a portfolio to get signed. Agencies will take polaroids of you. Once you’re signed they will send you out on test shoots so you can start building your portfolio.

Not into the model or the clothes or the concept. Those are some nice pictures of a graveyard though (minus the girl).

On salespeople:
The Prada and YSL salespeople by Madison Ave. are amazing and wonderful. They gave me some of the best customer service ever. At Prada it was zero sales pressure as they genuinely encouraged my friend and me to try on as many dresses and tops we wanted. At YSL I was thinking about getting the Muse in purple ostrich. The salesgirl was totally sweet and patient. Even after I didn't end up getting the purse she wanted to try some jewelry on me just for fun.
I will never buy anything from the Chanel on 58th. When I walked in absolutely NO ONE acknowledged me. I had to get a security guard to open up the jewelry for me. While I was going through the earrings and rings a snotty sales woman stormed over and scolded "That's not his job. If you want to buy something, you come to me!" I was over it. I put down the Chanel, thanked the security guard, and stormed out.
On designer handbag quality:
I got my sister a Marc Jacobs handbag for graduation this year. Not even a month goes buy and the handle for the outside zipper breaks off. I was furious. How could a $1300 bag break in less than a month when she treats it like a newborn child? I bought it for her in LA and she took it to the Bleecker St. location in NY for repairs. They were apparently super nice and apologetic and the repair was free. If anyone is thinking about getting a Marc Jacobs handbag I would say go for it. Despite the zipper incident, the quality of their handbags is amazing and they come with a lifetime guarantee so you will never have to pay for repairs if you need them.

@ guest #24
I used to work at Coach. Just bring in your damaged purse and they will send it out for repairs. You may have to pay $20 for shipping, but that's it.
While I’m not a big fan of Coach for strictly aesthetic reasons, their customer service and commitment to quality is amazing. They stand by their handbags 100% and just like Marc Jacobs have a lifetime guarantee on their bags.
FYI: The Coach signature jacquard is made in the same factory in Italy as the Gucci signature jacquard.

I would never look at that Steve Madden shoe and think Loffler Randall knockoff. I was obsessed with the Bianca flats in white patent leather and almost threw down the $300+ for them, but just couldn't justify it.

It's so funny you mention that. Just yesterday I was thinking Sebastian was totally like the original Chuck Bass.
