I'm not such a fan of Nicole Kidman's dress, but Natalie's Rodarte frock is fabulous.
And I think Scarlett could have done better... But if she likes it, hey, that's cool.

I saw that bag on their website in the fall (I suppose it MAY have been in a different shape, like a tote or something... but that design).
Not that a few months really makes a difference when we're talking in years here.

I actually liked it when I spotted it (the colors ARE great) and I can't remember when I finally realized that it was a knockoff. But, yeah, it does look cheap.

Dang it - I haven't watched that one yet! (Yes, I am the dork who DVRs Jeopardy!)
But I'm gonna go ahead and say that I would have gotten those anyway ;)

Ah, I love it when Jeopardy! does stuff like that. It's always fun to see Trebek declare the answers when none of the contestants get it. After one Daily Double: "No, the answer is UGGs. You'd know them if you had a teenager." (To which the contestant replied, "I do - a daughter, but I haven't heard of them.")

Forget the clothes - I want the EYELINER from the Amy Winehouse-inspired outfit.

Ditto on the bigger picture.

I just got back from SXSW! Lots of cute fashion; there were a couple of girls whom I wished I had had enough guts to ask about their outfits.
I spent most of the time wishing I had packed sundresses instead of jeans... the temp. rose into the nineties yesterday.

Austin's definitely a fun fashion town/such a college town.

I would try re-sale shops.

My sister got a great pair of menswear-inspired shoes for about $9 at Salvation Army a few months ago that are in great condition (I've actually been working on breaking them in). I can't recall if they're more like oxfords or wingtips, but the vamp is lower than one would see on a men's shoe, so they've got a bit of a jazz shoe feel to them.

I love that picture of Gemma! It's Vogue UK, but does anyone have more info on that photoshoot?

This is all around amazing - Karen, the clothes, everything. (Goodness, how's that for playing dress up? Geez.)

I love the cripple shot and the one in which she's "fainted."

White tights never looked so good.

It helped me find the rest of the pictures easily.

The first thing that comes to mind (probably because of the bunny-shaped Stella pictured) is Charlize Theron's character on Arrested Development. She played a developmentally-challenged woman who acted and dressed like her pre-k/k students (complete with the stuffed animal backpack).

I'm in college right now and the only time I use my backpack is if I have to carry a lot of books (or one Norton Anthology) or carrt books AND my laptop.

I used to know this one girl (college-aged) who had a really cute hot pink mini Jansport; it was just a shrunken version of the regular and it had this great simplicity about it. It could fit maybe a notebook and other smaller things. It was adorable and so was she.

The bonus of a backpack, of course, is that it distributes the weight equally on both shoulders. One of my mom's shoulders is lower than the other from carrying her bookbag around as a student. It's that whole scoliosis thing they warned us about as kids.

I'm in a digital graphics course and we're doing a project that involves working with scanned images. Ideally, the images should portray action, so the girl who sits next to me has a stack of Caroline Trentini shots from past issues of Vogue.

Every time I see the pictures I think of your posts chronicling Anna's love of the midair Trentini!

Also: My goodness, her face is gorgeous. She's like a doll. (Hmm, Gymnast Barbie? No, much better.)

No kidding - safari hat to the max.

The first images make me want a mani-pedi.

Hehe, love the flippers! That was quite unexpected. I really like that second model, as well.
Oh, and that saddle works surprisingly well as a headpiece.

Ooh, thanks for the heads up. I freaked out just now because it's past 8 EST, but it turns out they're not airing it where I am 'till Friday. Shall tune in then...

I don't have a blatant fake (well, no logos), but I have got a couple of imitations/"inspired by"s - one from Target and one from (drum roll, please) Forever 21. Both of which I jumped on 'cause I like the orginals so much.
Yeah, it feels kinda cheap, but that pretty much wears off.

I will say, though, that since I started reading Fashionista a year ago, I've been much more turned off by the whole imitation thing (and fast fashion in general). So yay!

Yeah, what guest 8:30pm said.

Thank you for the tip! I didn't realize these new artist themes were up!
I wish Todd Oldham's was more exciting.
My pick: Oscar de la Renta

Also: Tory Burch has a Google app? Weird.

Yes! I miss Isaac's show.
I haven't really watch The Style Network since it ended and I began wondering if that channel (wow, my inclination there was to just use one 'n') even exists any more. (I think I heard that it does?)

The website for the show was pretty cute, too. It had a little style tip each day. When clicking through them one time one said "When in doubt, wear black," and the next one said, "When in doubt, wear pink."

Thank you for the heads up. Am setting my DVR now... cause ain't no way I'm getting up at 7 (central time).

Oh, and guest 3:10 - am I the only one who still keeps a VCR?
I can understand that it might be easier to catch it on YouTube, but setting up a tape and hitting record isn't that much harder than setting a DVR.
