I've always worn vanilla-based scents. Once a gourmand, always a gourmand. Except in middle school I wore Vanilla Fields and now at 26 I'll do a fragrance from Comptoir Sud Pacifique.

Entry: Models Aim To Unionize

I think this is a great idea. Some models may be unable to negotiate for themselves (either due to youthful inexperience or limited English skills), so why not have a union do it for them? All people deserve to protected from exploitation in the workplace.

If Sofia Coppola can wear flats to the Oscars and look chic, then any one of us can definitely pull off flats for a party.

I haven't worn lip gloss since high school (I'm 26). I find it really heavy and hate when the wind blows and my hair sticks to my lips. I'm not a heavy lipstick girl, either. I stick to sheer formulas and colored balms (like Clinique Almost Lipstick or Laura Mercier Lip Kisses) since I think they do the best job of enhancing what I already have.

I support animal rights as well as homelessness relief, and I agree it does seem a bit harsh and self-serving to mark Xs on the coats. Homeless people deserve to be treated with some dignity.

FYI, fur coats can also be donated to wildlife rehabilitators, who use them to comfort orphaned, sick or injured animals. The Humane Society of US has a Coats for Cubs program that does this.

Entry: Would You Wear A One-Piece Bathing Suit?

I think one-pieces can be very chic and even sexy. The trick is getting a cut that's on the bare side, or going for a suit with retro (but not frumpy) styling, and sticking with solids or metallics. I've long hated shopping for swimsuits because I feel so many of the designs for young women are anti-fashion -- the aforementioned hibiscus prints, for instance, which are just awful in my opinion. If I wouldn't wear a certain print on a dress, why should I wear it on a bathing suit. It can be surprisingly difficult to find a nice bikini in a solid. color.
