i actually agree with the idea that miley is more interesting than the other starlets. diaz? seriously? i dunno though. none of these people, models or actresses are that great or fun to read about. musicians maybe a little more so since they have talent (dont tell me most of the actresses that make covers have talent. they have tits.)

rihanna lost it when it became known chris beat her and she stuck with him. any of the excuses that plague normal women, and that are completely legit (note my critique of her is not one of abused women as a whole), do not apply to rihanna. she has bodyguards, money, a myriad of people telling her to leave him. Universal adoration if she kicked him to the curb. No reason to be dependent on him or afraid of him.Shes trying to be a badass, when we all know she is just a weak, vapid puppet. And I used to LOVE her.

natalie IS boring. shes a decently intelligent girl, but lets not pretend she got into harvard solely on that. she's a movie star. that rap thing she did was funny, but she doesnt really stand out from the others (more down to earth and intelligent though, yes). miley is spunky and a slight change of pace who has A LOT going on. not to mention, most of the actresses kinda suck at acting...

Its not about saying "women should not show skin, its degrading". We're not about limiting their CHOICES. The problem is, choosing to show lots of skin or "flaunting it" is often born out of the conscious or subconcious desire to be percieved as attractive. It's certainly not bad, but it isnt as if they chose to do this free od any sort of societal normality. They want attention, they want to look hot because society says that is how you should be. Choice is entirely subjective and can be dependent upon things that are still super negative for women. Youre playing right into objectification which is one of huge counterpoints to equality.

i don't care for people making remarks like that either, but Linda is a model and the only thing she's truly done for society is contribute an aescetic. So it's fair her work be judged. She isn't making us food, she's trying to make us like the way she looks.

ashlee is my most loathed too. "love your bodies girls, but starve yourselves and get a complete appearance changing nose job. also, dye your hair a ridiculous shade of horrible!" i sometimes watch melrose place (dont judge) and she makes these pouty sexy faces so much that i had to develop a drinking game for it just to be able to watch.

if, in the end, they just need to get fabric and make clothes, I don't see a huge difference in where it is filmed. i think living in new york makes boring people think theyre fabulous so they have to play it up as much as possible.

i don't think gaga is going away any time soon. if people like rihanna and britney can survive with very little talent beyond looking hot, i'm not too worried about someone who can turn out hit after hit while creating substantial buzz for themselves both in music and fashion. other popstars right now should be ashamed at how much they suck in comparison.
