Well, one of the reasons I often look unpresentable at home is that I want to be comfortable above all. I've just never been able to find things that are both stylish and totally comfortable. I'd love to hear what you eternally fashionable sorts wear at home. Ideas, please!

Ha ha - love it!
But I love that bag she's holding for real - any scoop on it? I assume it's Temperley...

Yeah, I agree with the Cameron voters. Her easy-breezy accessories are more in the spirit of the top. Though Blake still looks great!

Yes, the fact is that to keep getting our fix of the glossies, we're going to have to be much more careful readers - and see through the "editorial" pieces that are basically advertorial. Guest 1:22 is right - in tough times the magazines become very beholden to their advertisers. The problem is, once one title caves, the others practically have to follow suit.
I'm not sure what to make of ELLE's September spread, "A Perfect Stranger," entirely devoted to Armani. It was beautifully done and had a premise (shot in Giorgio Armani's hometown), but I couldn't help but think they were appeasing the brand or buttering it up...

I'm with the non-orange wearers. I'll wear reddish orange, but not regular pumpkin orange. I don't care much for wearing yellow, either, except maybe as an accent. Those colors just don't really flatter me. And the gray has to be a soft dove gray (almost bluish) for me to be into it. I LOVE chartreuse, though! It's one of my favorite colors to wear. In my bedroom the color scheme is turquoise accented by bronze and chartreuse...

That's complicated... I think a lot of people would claim they dress for themselves, but really it's not that straightforward. At least a little, everyone is dressing with others in mind.
As for me, I often look schleppy at home (and I work at home!), but I do notice I feel better, even by myself, when I'm dressed and looking polished. When I go out into the world in a great outfit, I consider it a kind of armor against judgment or rudeness. I guess it just gives me confidence, which enables to handle all situations better.
