These are distributed by Simplicity patterns, so you should be able to find them in any store selling that line. In the states, Joanns regularly has sales on Simplicity so you should be able to snag them for a couple of dollars. You can also buy them online through www.patternreview.com.

BTW, for cute styles www.hotpatterns.com is another independent company worth checking out. Pricier, but high-quality patterns printed on heavy-wt paper stock.

I'm with Fashionista on this one, especially since WWD should be setting a standard. I know the Interet is a fluid place as far as news is concerned, but all the more reason to shoot for a measure of integrity. I'd also like to think if the bloggers here neglect to credit someone they'll make amends for it.

The biggest problem with American Vogue isn't so much Anna is that it's an American "lifestyle" magazine. It's not a whole lot different really than affiliated Town & Country or any of the other glossy, faux-elite mags my grandmother carefully arranged on her coffee table years ago. It seems to be more about promoting an upscale, product-focused image than it is about fashion. In short, the Ami Vogue is all about marketing and there isn't a whole lot of art or soul in it.

Jen just looks like a naked woman trying to sell something. Nothing particularly spunky or in charge about that. He cutesy praying mantis pose is too much for me, though. What a creepy woman.

Entry: The Compliment and the Complimenter

I'd say that, based on this post, that the anonymous Fashionista office-person had a very narrow point of view and was thus sort of boring. Because people have many different viewpoints and can like your look/art/cat/whatever for myriad different reasons, how can you say a compliment is valid or not? It would be more fun and interesting to ask, "what do you like about it?" and learn something.

Little late coming to the party on but I still want to comment on Keen Observer's complaint. It would be a profound disservice to her readers if Abby took his/her comments to heart and made her writing less personal. I read a great deal, and certain blogs are at the top of my list not just because they inform/entertain me but because they have a strong point of view. This dovetails most appropriately with fashion, doesn't it? Ideally, fashion speaks with a unique voice, and I expect nothing less from those writing about it. So there, dammit.
