Entry: Would You Wear A Swimsuit You Can't Swim In?

Sooooo unrealistic for real people. Swimsuits are expensive enough as it is, why jack the price way up and take away the functionality of it? Doesn't make sense.
I mean I get the appeal and maybe if it was under $100 I'd think about it, but $750?!? Are they out of their freaking minds?! This is something you'd get a limited amount of wearing out of and it's not even functional. And good point on the dry cleaning thing guest 1, thats just icky.
Trying to rename it as a "sunsuit" is just tacky. We're not stupid designers, we know it's a swimsuit, you're the ones who made it un-swimmable(?) so just suck it up and stand by that decision, don't try to cop out by giving it a cutesy name.

Check out Nars' single eye shadow in Grenadines. It's just about as red as you can get.
I still don't know, it looks so fantastic in pictures, but if I saw it on the street I don't know if I would have the same "oh wow" reaction. Maybe I'm just not adventurous enough on the shadow front to pull this one off.

Reading her posts makes me slightly homicidal towards my own closet. I always end up walking away from my computer in frustration and pouting at my clothes.

I agree with guest 3, lady danger is fab. They used it on the models at the A/W 09 Twinkle by Wenlan show and it was AMAZING.

Mangenta, really? Grow a Mangina and just call it pink already, you big babies. If you're comfortable enough to trot around in a hot pink shirt, I think you should be comfortable enough to just call it pink and not give it a stupid "trendy" name.

They put me on a customized program based on my answers to the questions: how many veggies and fruits do you eat, whole grains, milk, meat, etc.
They also asked if I had any health concerns like digestion, sleep, joint pain, etc.
And they also asked about my exercise routine.
Based on my answers I was assigned to program 4 (whoo hoo digestive health) and I've been taking the supplements faithfully for the past 5 days. I haven't seen any noticeable changes yet, although I do feel a bit more energetic. That could be psychosomatic though.
The other thing to consider is that they definitely ain't cheap. The programs cost upwards of $150, depending on the one you get. The elixirs (which were actually quite yummy tasting btw) are the cheapest at $22 for four, but I feel like the supplements are where you get the most benefits from.
Ideally, yes I should be eating the right food and getting enough exercise — it'd be cheaper and probably have more lasting effects. But that is something I know I won't stick to, so at least this is doing me some bit of good, even if it isn't the best option. And compared to other beauty "nutraceuticals" already on the market, I think this is the best of the bunch.

It's like metrosexual a few years back - they have to take something they think is feminine and then insert a "manly" phrase into it to make it less "offending."
Not fooling anybody boys. I think it's so much sexier to just own it. Like "yeah I'm wearing pink. What of it?"

In theory I love peel off nail polish. In practice, not so much. I always end up accidentally peeling it off, or getting bored and peeling it off, which means my manicure has a life span of, oh about 15 minutes.
Starts to get a little old to have to repaint your nails 6 times in one day...

Obviously it's sanitary, my problem with it is you are going in to basically get test tube sperm rubbed on your face. The idea of it just skeeves me out. Am I being too big of a baby about this or is anyone else really disturbed about that?
I mean, can you imagine the bedroom conversations that are going to take place once guys start hearing about this?

Agreed, she was unnecessarily mean. I mean I know Amanda was annoying but she ripped that poor girl to shreds.
Just because you're gorgeous and accomplished doesn't give you the right to tear down those people who are still trying to claw their way up the fashion ladder.

I think if you goop it on it will, but with these sheer ones or a light layer I don't think you would have a problem. The Bobbi Brown held up to that 80 degree humid heat we had last week. It's kind of like it adheres to the skin almost.
The problem I had when I wore powders is that I would sweat in the heat and then the blush would cake up and look weird or just completely melt off. So far these haven't melted on me or gunked up. I find that pretty impressive.

Guest 4: All three are non-comedogenic. With the Bobbi Brown my skin was a little irritated but that is probably from the vigorous rubbing.
The Nars didn't make me break out but I did notice a few little red bumps on my cheeks after I used it three days in a row. But I have insanely sensitive skin so it could just be me reacting to the new formula, it's happened before.
I only wore the Avon for one day, but it didn't have an effect on my skin in that time period.
Hope that helps!

I do like the stains like Benetint, but you have to be super-attentive with them because they dry so quickly. I'm a little ADD in the a.m. and the last time I used it I got distracted in the middle of applying it (my dog's a little attention needy) and ended up with two bright red dots on my cheeks. I had to scrub off all my makeup and start over.
But it definitely stays in place. If you're super oily or sweaty and can't keep color on your cheeks, a stain is the way to go.

I can attest to the fabulousness of the Sun Care Protective Hair Veil. I've been using it on sunny days and my hair looks fantastic. I was afraid it would be all oily and make my hair look like a grease slick, but it's really lightweight and helped define my waves without making them look all frizz-tastic.

I had the same problem with Creme de La Mer. I had heard so much about it that when I first became an editor and a jar made its way to me, I started slathering it on regularly. One week later my skin was so broken out it was humiliating.
My problem was I didn't stop to think that the Miracle Broth, while working wonders on dry skin, would cause my oily skin to go bezerk. I was so wrapped up in the hype I didn't bother to take my specific skin needs into consideration.

Good point guest #1. Christopher Brosius of CB I Hate Perfumes also does accords, and they are definitely a whole lot more off beat. Instead of more traditional floral notes, you get to choose from some really unique ones like Baby Butt or Lipstick. Definitely worthwhile if you're looking for something a bit more off the beaten track.

Hi everyone,
Just an unrelated note, this is going to be my last post on Fashionista. I've decided to go full time at my other job and as such I won't be able to guest write for the site anymore.
It's been a blast writing these posts for you and I hope the majority of you enjoyed them. For anyone who would like to continue reading my work, you can find me at DailyMakeover.com.

Hilary already has a contract with Lauder. I agree on Zoe Saldana, she'd be a great pick. Also, Amy Adams or, weirdly Zooey Deschanel. I don't know why but I love her look and think she has a great face for beauty. Agree on Banks, she's a bit of an oddball pick for L'Oreal. But she's had a hot year with W and that stupid Seth Rogen pic, so I guess they are trying to capitalize on that.
