Nice job. I think I'll attack one of my million white tanks and do the very same thing. Maybe looking to the left... :-)

Vivienne was interviewed on the same show Agyness Dean was the following week (Friday Night With Jonathan Ross: UK equivalent to Letterman) and her idea of conservative is not being anarchic. All of her work seems to have been about subverting conventional style and clothes being a direct reflection of your attitude to life and society. I can't even imagine what she wore to the British Museum!

PS: I'm very disappointed I didn't get to see the Terracotta Warriors. :-(

Am I buzzing in the right direction with Mert and Marcus?

Q: Diane von Furstenberg told me she thinks you may not be the best designer aesthetically, but that you’re by far the smartest. What do you make of that statement?
KL: And look at her prints, hmm?...If she were an expert, perhaps her designs may be more impressive...You have to be a genius so other people can make such statements...[Coco] Chanel herself was not limited. At 86, perhaps, she was limited and when the miniskirt arrived she went out of fashion by resisting it, but I’m not stupid in that way.

Wow. Handbags at dawn.

I'd tickle Tim too. Just as soon as that damned restraining order runs out...

Guest @ 1.34: Thank you!

Although I just googled her and she's a lot more mainstream looking than I remember. For one, she has eyes.

My memory is either warped or really really bad.

I think the cultural relevance protestations would have made more sense had we not already seem the Count from Sesame Street! Jeez. Hipster-phobia anyone?

The hair reminds me of that goth-ish cartoon girl that used to be on everyone's backpacks around the time Korn were zeitgeist central. Damned if I can remember her name...

Also for those obsessed with Agyness:

She will be a guest along with Forrest Whitaker (and UK TV legend Bruce Forsyth) on "Friday Night With Jonathan Ross" on BBC1 at 10.35pm.

Those Brits who have Friday night plans can catch it on iplayer for the next week.

Those Brits who don't want our international friends to miss out: upload it ASAP.

Such a beautiful shoot. But, yeah I thought the same thing, but I preferred the juxtaposition in Gemma's. It was equally vibrant but just seemed so much more fun since Gem looked like a sportswear pilgrim rather than a lost backpacker.

Perhaps it's just the "uh we have tassles and beadwork...let's find us some Incas!" thought process. It's like setting Marc's S/S 08 in a Dali exhibition, though perhaps being that predictable would in itself be sufficiently Dadaistic. Now where did I leave Alex Shulman's number?...

Wow. Studying has made my inner dialogue ever so slightly tangential. Coffee time I think.

I read of her being scouted in an east London branch of Primark two years ago and walking in DVF and a few other shows that year. I'm so excited about her success now but moreso that reading the free dailies is sometimes worthwhile!

Agreed. Rugby men are most definitely the way forward.

Plus it's not as if fashion males are universally beefy. The alternative in London I guess is heading for the Financial District for polo shirts and chinos...take your pick.

PS: Rhys Ifans as an example for the UK is like using Brandon Davis for the US. Just cos they're on the scene, doesn't make them the queen. :-)

She's been called CoKate in the tabloids for ages; I feel like that shirt is a tribute more than anything. One of my friends wore it with the Galliano newspaper print trousers: I think he was going for a pop culture reference but it all kinda came out a bit PerezHilton. Shame. :-)

Entry: Who Wore It Better?

This may sound like a bizarre observation, but I think the way the coat is worn fits each photo quite well. Anna's button-up, austere styling makes the whole shot look so dignified. Flick over to Ashley and it's really relaxed and, unsurprisingly, younger.

I'd probably wear the coat like Ashley if I could get my hands on it (i.e. steal it from the cloakroom of the Waverley Inn) but I don't necessarily know better. I don't have the bone structure for a bob either! lol
