I wish I could end up on the Sartorialist, but literally on him. Anyway, yeah, "green" means a lot of things now. If a company puts a recycling can in their company kitchen, they call themselves green. It's all a bunch of hype, like pogs or famine.

As much as I find my mother's love original Lifetime movies (She Said No, Sex and Mrs. X, Doves of Summer) the Golden Girls is the best thing on Lifetime. I read somewhere that the Golden Girls still gets a million views during the week. Crazy, huh? I guess they are trying to revamp, for when they announced the move of Project Runway, they also announced The Golden Girls would be moving to We. I hope they can pull this off, because if not, it could all just fall flat.

Ok, I have to chime in. I was not here for the great murse debate of 2004. But, I am a gay man. I am a six foot two, 250. I guess you could say that my presence is over the top. I carry a purse. It's not a murse, it's not a messenger bag, it's not a European male carry all. It's a purse. It's a beautiful purse: Prada chevre tote in hunter green and chocolate. I spent my first full-time paycheck on it. I don't even think about it. I find that bags and perfume and disposable razors sort of fall into the same category. How in the world can the cut and construction of a bag define a gender? I mean, really, who is that narrow to believe that? I don't think it's about gay or straight. Does anyone remember that picture of Snoop Dog carrying around his damier LV speedy last year? I don't like things in my pockets and most bags marketed to men are ugly and boring. There is no reason a man, gay straight, tall short, fat thin, otherwise, can't carry what is simply marketed as feminine bag. I find it really sad and quite disturbing that people still label each other's gender based on the sack that schleps their crap around. I understand that for the moment it's weird looking. Trust me, I get my fair share of comments, but I love my purse. I paid a lot of money for it, and it holds everything perfectly. In fact, for my birthday I'm getting myself a Birkin. It's about style and presence. I don't think men should have to limit themselves to gray brown and black gym and messenger bags to look good.

Sarah Chivonne: I feel the same way. I'm seeing it tomorrow, but it's like, good gracious already! I love the Candace Bergen character. I really wish though that Anna had agreed to do it herself. I mean, I know she's busy and all, but how awesome would all of Candace's lines as Enid have been if they were coming out of Anna's mouth?

Her style is fabulous. I love her music. I am just worried her own line is going to be too Marc Jacobs.

This saddens me so much, and I feel the same way you guys do. So many people knew him; we were totally honored to share time space with him. I am remembering Catherine Deneuve and a picture I saw of her once in the early 2000s. She had the YSL logo painted onto her nails. I am remembering being so excited to have taped 5 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris off the Sundance channel, being able to watch it while the world still has VCRs. I am thinking about the white suit he designed and would later be the suit Tina Turner escaped from Ike in. I am remembering an interview Anna Wintour gave Charlie Rose about a feud Yves and she were going through. The funeral will be no doubt be huge, the effect of his departure from this world, even bigger.

Those shoes were cute the first time I saw them. The fiftieth, oh hell naw. Not only that, every time I see them I think of the classic Ferragamo flat. The article about her in last weeks LA Times Image section, along with this sham of an award, just cemented my annoyance with her. Although, I do think it's great that Prince wore one of her tunics to coachella. :)

He's so gross to me. I keep thinking he is going to run back to his wooden wagon and go rejoin the band of tramps and street performers, after he takes my baby.

shame seems to be lurking somewhere in here? who cares? when i was nineteen i was sitting in the neiman marcus at the fashion show mall in las veags. a friend of mine was visiting her old stomping grounds, and an older lady she used to work with still happened to be there. she was salty, brazen, and hilarious. she smoked (inside, no less) and from under the table where she was sitting, she pulled out a fake fendi bag that was clear plastic. it looked so great on her, with all of her stuff in it, that i almost considered trying to find one.
another story: about four years later i was standing in a the dark room of pasadena city college's photo lab. an older asian woman i had been tutoring was having an LV show off with me. all i had at the time was my wallet. upon presenting it to her, she said, "yes, but in your purse or pocket, no one can see it."
just saying. display your shit proudly. who cares if someone sees your tampons or condoms or cocaine? let it shine!

I totally understand this. Specifically about Heidi and Hermes. I have been on an Hermes kick all year, and I can't tell you how disappointed I was with these pics of her. She has two kellys, a white birkin, and a ton of other smaller accessories. It's so annoying. When I finally saved enough to get an Hermes bag for my birthday, I totally didn't get these. I got one that not many people know about, so it still holds its secret luxury factor for me. Also, I think what helps with the Heidi situation is that she pics really gaudy colors for her hermes. I can't stand the blue jean or the etoupe kelly she's got. I prefer the older classic burgundies, blacks, and browns of the house. I think it's also funny that her white birkin is the same as pamela anderson's with different hardware.

I'm so glad he's going back to models. Victoria Beckham, while I worship her, just did not look good (or make the clothes look good) in this whole campaign. It looks like a humming bird landed on her head.
