I wonder if this is what she had in mind when she expressed her desire to 'act'. I mean, this really isn't any different than what she would normally do as a model if she were to book some sort of beauty/fragrance campaign and film a commercial. It is interesting to watch, but just feels like some director wanted to make a short film about his most recent acid trip equipped with soldiers with axes, pine trees, dancing bears, and an unearthly sexual creature. That, and it irritates me that she expresses desire to break only into movies compared to television or theatre acting AND not care to develop her skills as an actress. It makes her seem like a fame whore.

im surprised by how most people commenting dont like this! i agree, beyonce wearing pugh feels a bit degrading to both myself and other fashion folk who appreciate pugh's originality, but once i got over my brief pretension and watched the video, i have to say, i think it is tha bomb!

beyonce (as a brand) is all about fantasy and gareth pugh's designs echo that. his clothes make her look badass and add to the short narrative (especially near the end) she has going on in the video.

plus, the song is great and would be totally awesome to dance to at a club or to groove out to in front of my mirror if it were remixxed to be a bit faster.

overall, i think the song/video/pugh's designs come together great and I really enjoyed watching it.

dude, i love that she did black, but i cant say much for the pinks- yes i think those are a bit much. i do however LOVE the bunny masks as headbands/pieces, very japanese. plus im all about headpieces anyway.

yeah but models arent retouched to have talent. any gorgeous idiot can stand in front of a camera and look hot. not everyone can act in front of one and be believable.

That Nina Ricci dress is pretty bad ass- reminds me of an old school, gothic railroad of sorts. But I have to agree with the other commenters about the wearability factor. High fashion is great inspiration, but incredibly intangible to the majority of Americans. At the end of the day people want something to lust after, realistically save for, and then hopefully (and eventually) purchase. The Kate Moss for Topshop dress allows them exactly that.
