but great sale/bargain aside, nothing hurts more than when you're eying something amazing and the sale on it gets greater and greater but then it disappears! it's happened to me one too many times that waiting for that great (elusive) 75% off is not as worth it as I'd love it to be.

I love your Duke shirt! Is that the Chip & Pepper one? Because we definitely don't have nice ones like that in the school store

I think leg warmers are fabulous and beyond winter essential. I do say don't be limited by wearing them in only neutral tones because you can have so much fun with them in great colors without looking 80s. Now if you choose to wear them with day-glo tights, a cut-off sweatshirt, a pair of Chucks and a side ponytail, I can't help you...

I don't think that color looks good for nails. It almost looks chalky and reminds me too much of sea-foam green, equally nauseating.

guest @3:44pm, please elaborate on what kind of learning you're talking about because if learning about dead philosophers is all you do in those 4 years I feel badly for you. God forbid people appreciate fashion and want to embrace it, there shouldn't be a restriction on what location can be turned into a runway.
that being said, I do think the idea of this particular scarf is kinda gross. I def agree with Jacqueminette.

My least favorite items were definitely the ones with her face all over them, but I actually really like this collection. I bought the tiered dress in champagne to wear to my birthday party and it worked out fabulously, and I'm eying the red satin jumper. I saw someone on campus wearing the bubble coat and it made me almost consider buying it and a friend has the grey cardigan. I'd say we're being a little harsh on Ms. Fetherston, it's a pretty solid collection compared to some of the others that have debuted (I barely paid attention to Alice Temperley).
As for the marketing aspect of things, she may be onto something. We definitely need to keep an eye on her.

I don't think people are asking for her to look like a trashy whore or to be dressed like a lot of tacky 16 years old there, but there is something to be said about dressing appropriately for your age. She's worn other Chanel numbers that suit her age just fine, so I don't think she's doing a great job pulling this one off in the slightest. She obviously knows she looks a bit ridiculous because she's barely smiling in the pic.

I don't think Tyra has a clue about what it currently takes to be a top model. I stopped watching the show because I was bored beyond words, but just in reviewing the portfolios on the site right now, there's nothing standout about the themes of the shoots or the actual models. there's hardly anyone that strikes me as versatile in terms of looks, poses, whatever. the show has definitely gone downhill. plus, when you see winners like Dani Evans "scoring" contracts with JCPenney, it just really makes me wanna go to the girls and ask "why bother?"

omg. people are freaking delusional.
obviously mary kate looks the best. it looks like she just tossed it on, hardly any effort. carrie, on the other hand, looks like she hired some up and coming stylist that told her that the dress was hot, but then forgot to tell her that the scarf needed to be tossed and the overdone hair should be saved for oklahoma or texas or wherever the hell she comes from. and i don't give a damn if it was cold outside, she shouldve worn an amazing jacket or something.
a million votes for MK. Carrie needs to stick to the basics.

I'm with guest at 10:15pm, Victorya was one of my shoe-ins. she definitely knows what she's doing. Her last design was poorly constructed, but with more tweaking I definitely saw something there.
I'd put Victorya, Rami & Jillian in the top 3. I think Christian is good, but they don't seem to really pay attention to his work as much as they do with the other 3 I mentioned.

I think it can work a couple of ways. I don't think it's fair to say that 14/15 yr olds aren't interesting because I'd argue that they can be some of the more interesting people with a fresh take on life, art, creativity. I say the younger that people really start embracing their individual interests and pushing it, the better for them. so if that's what these girls are doing with fashion, music or whatever, who are we to say they're boring. what we're seeing in that video is that they're probably just not groomed for the camera.
That said, I definitely hate the idea of these babies being the standard for beauty in the industry where the consumers can barely remember what it's like to be 16 and aren't really trying to go back there. An older, more mature model, please.
And to astragirl02, Marc Jacobs isn't exactly ahead of the game in choosing older models. let's not forget the creepy miss dakota fanning.

a very unimpressive list this week. my least faves were def nicole kidman and erin fetherston (I don't think the dress flattered her in the least bit). I did appreciate Jessica Joffe for wearing the Miu Miu pumps that I covet.

YES TO OLSENS! subscriptions to W, TeenVogue, Nylon, Essence, & Bazaar aside, lol, I'll buy anything with an Olsen. And I'd love to see Kelis featured on more covers because, well, she's just fabulous.

the swimsuit you had up originally definitely didn't do the finding any justice. good job on finding the original dvf dress because there were a lot of doubters in the audience.

I've never been a huge fan of Vogue because the editorial was hardly appealing and grossly pretentious at times (and because Teen Vogue suits me just fine), but the aesthetic of this spread is so wonderful that I may have to pick up an issue. yay for Testino!
