The irony of this post is that the fabrics Lanvin uses are not necessarily luxurious. I bought a *very* expensive dress this season that was made from polyester. It is gorgeous, but working with cheap fabrics is certainly not foreign to Alber!

Yes, I read that article in W too. But I still say poly is poly.
Don't get me wrong -- it's gorgeous. But it's a little silly.

Tamara Mellon is the only designer I can think of who was married to a blue blood. Tory Burch's ex might have had money, but he wasn't a blue blood.

Maybe the F21 dress was inspired by the much more recent (FW 2007) Christian Louboutin "mondriana" platform? Which of course was a riff on Piet AND Ysl.

I adore Selma and think she has fabulous style. But it's almost impossible to look better than Kate.

I have those boots (bought them last month), and #s 5 & 6, the piping is not white. It's an anthracite color. Much more suited to the grey suede. They are beautiful. but I can say they are very hard to walk in! They are the same last as the Declic, which has an extremely shallow toe box.

There is a mistake in your question! Louis XIV did not wear red SOLES. Rather, he wore red HEELS, and his courtiers followed suit. ;)

DUH! How ironic that I called out your mistake, and then made a mistake in MY post. It should have been that he wore red soles, NOT heels ;)

Of course they are relaunching the sprouse bags; it's for the exhibit at Deitch opening in January.

Good riddance! No offense to you Britt, but the people who work at Scoop are creeps. They are truly the most aloof, obnoxious people. Their merchandise is pretty pedestrian, too.

I didn't realize See by Chloe pieces were *ever* made in Italy. I've always found the China tag. And I've always thought that the stuff was sub-par quality and over-priced.

Exactly my thoughts #7 -- and it was quite funny the way he phrased it in W. Something about a guy having bad shoes and hideous jewelry.
