I do not work in the fashion industry but I love reading about the industry on Fashionista.

I remember a comment that mentioned the fact, or not, that the fashion industry is highly subsidized. Rather that many of the people who work in it come from wealthy families who help them afford their lifestyle because the salaries are low.

As an outsider, I was wondering how much of this is true? And if you’re willing to comment anonymously, does your family support you and by how much?
