Entry: Would You Wear Faux Fur?

I have never felt badly about wearing faux fur. The only faux fur I have is on the collar of a parka and I have a faux fur blanket on a chair in my living room. The collar doesn't look real AT ALL, so no one is going to even suspect me of trying to wear real fur, but cheaper. I'm not a fan of wearing real fur. The exception? Native tribes who kill the animal, eat the animal, and wear the animal in any way they like. Shit, they deserve it. My two cats are way disturbed by my faux fur blanket, tho, btw, and I often wonder if they suspect (in their tiny kitty minds) that I've killed an animal and put it out on display in my house. Ew. Can you imagine? There's no right or wrong in my mind. It's weird, but....it's so soft....!

What's crazier: Wearing fur and/or raising and killing cute animals for fur only purposes, or throwing some paint or food on fur wearers? PETA may have bizarre tactics, but they are pretty effective. And let's see, if we are going to argue morality, in my opinion, PETA is morally superior to the fur industry and designers who perpetuate it.

These companies are similar in size and market, right? Then their close proximity should beget a continuously positive and competitive product. Guess we'll wait and see.

"It's a gorgeous and air-tight sentence, but oddly The Times passes no judgments on its idea."
It's not odd that the NYT doesn't offer judgment on a trend. The lack of editorializing is a mark of excellent journalism. They hope to have their readers make the judgments based upon what they write about. Otherwise, the article would have been in their "Opinions" section.

I agree with guest 9:18. People are freaking sue-happy. Imitation is the best form of flattery. I love how another blog I read shows the high-end item, then often shows the lower-end similar item so that you can choose how to spend your money. Rich people suing others is just stupid. And more specifically to this instance, the designs were not similar enough to be lawsuit fodder. Hopefully a judge will throw this thing out of court.

the problem is, how do you go grey when your hair is colored? do you just deal with roots and strangely half-dyed hair until your color grows out or does one have to resort to chopping it off? long grey hair looks like it belongs to a character in a scary movie. ah, well. it's not hard to color hair. guess that's the way to go.
