I’m obsessed with the short kimono-like jacket Zooey Deschanel wears in the movie Gigantic.
You can see it at left.
But I’m totally open to getting a vintage version as long as it’s similar - and short.
Any ideas on where one can find somehting like this? I know Chinatown seems like the obvious choice but there isn’t anything like that in my town and I’d hate to buy it online because I need to know how it fits.

Long shot but Stuart Weitzman, was originally started in the 50's as Seymour Shoes. At some point the name was changed (and the company changed hands?) to Stuart Weitzman. Which it has been known as since the 1986....?

The costume designer was Marit Allen. A former model, UK Vogue staffer and nominated costume desginer, she passed away in 2007. (see Wikipedia article).
I can't find any record of her selling her clothes (though in 2001 she sold some her wardrobe form her Vogue days).
Though there is a fun question on IMDB, that notes that in 2007 someone's boss wanted the same dress to wear to Celine Dion's Costume party..

Sorry I can't think of any other T.O. based stores (HR is a great resource, but you still run the risk of sharing your dress). Maybe go, and ask a sales associate about local boutiques?
