I think if the tights were a better fit and paired with some sort of heel as opposed to those masculine boots the outfit would be a bit more sophisticated and mature - But I'm always a fan of comfort so whatevs.
Anyway more streetwalker posts Fashionista!!

What's interesting is that I find that most women who aren't up-to-date on the latest goings on in women's footwear or fashion for that matter don't actively seek out imitations yet often fall victim to them. For instance my sister doesn't follow fashion and YSL is no where on her radar but she would probably like, even possibly purchase the Steve Madden shoes without appreciating the originals.
It's really lazy design on Steve Madden's part which fascinates me. I'm so intrigued by these fast fashion retailers who turn a massive profit on the ingenuity of others. It's all mind blowing because in a way it is necessary. These imitators aid to the branding of these luxury fashion houses helping them appear more elusive and appealing to the die hard fashionista.
I just think its unforgiving when the imitations are of smaller lesser known brands.

"There’s been a lot of 'What’s going on?' with Heatherette this year,"
Really???? (hee hee just wanted to be bitchy)
That's so intense to be unable to use your own namesake for your brand - I guess one must be extra cautious before selling their soul to the devil

Tyra would be so disappointed, Beyonce you're looking into the light!!
Anyway no one has the right to be disgruntled over Elle having Beyonce on the cover for this edition; to do so would be expecting too much from Elle who simply don't deliver on a consistent basis (in respects to their covers) .
With that said, her facial expression is a bit awkward and I can't buy in to this cover because I don't see Beyonce as high fashion.

In response to guest number 10 the clothes look rather cheap because they're basic (as I mentioned before they're rather gap-like). I've seen wide leg denim and cropped jackets at most retailers, it isn't quite the offering you would expect from a luxury fashion house - at least not in their advertisements which should be a fantasy. Furthermore the campaign doesn't look like it was shot by a seasoned vet . Is this the pre-collection? It just leaves me rather confused, perhaps its strategic and they want to appear rather friendly and approachable to the masses in these hard economic times? In any event the folks at Burberry should have saved their budget instead of commissioning Mario Testino for such uninspired photos.

I'm usually a fan of both women however I agree with post 10. The selection of shoes and hair style don't really compliment the dresses -- more so for Jennifer Connelly than Cate Blanchett.

I'm so amazed by how attentive people are, I really wouldn't have noticed the jagged edges of the magazine scan LOL. By the way PYT the folks at fashionista could apply some Photoshop cropping skills as a more efficient alternative to an x-acto knife ;).
Anyway not quite sure why people are up in arms over the term "ghetto blaster." I don't really get the reference as the styling looks more pop 80's inspired than hip-hop.
Oh and to the person who said to use wikipedia as a reference, although it is a great tool for us lazy young folk - who have come to love instantaneous communication - it is hardly the most credible source to reference :P

It's strange that Jennifer Aniston is on the cover of GQ naked. What other purpose does this serve then to garner publicity for her and possibly - though highly unlikely due to the internet -increase magazine sales of GQ???? NONE! Therefore my conclusion is that she is desperate for attention and to eagerly shed any remnants of Brad Pitt and her "poor me" image.
Anyway I prefer the playboy cover over the FHM I mean GQ cover...

Weird I feel the exact same way as everyone else. As an avid reader of Fashionista I must say you guys really need to be consistent and selective with which brands you openly bash and support. Contradictory behaviour such as this is questionable and diminishes your credibility - at least for me anyway.

I'm a fan of Phillip Lim, I love the subtlety of his sophistication. I feel like the main communication message behind his brand is that it is understated elegance and that message is very clear and always reiterated. But, clothing for dog is far from subtle and elegant. Something about it is rather gauche -- wait I know what it is, an animal that licks its own arse and rolls around in dirt really shouldn't be clothed especially in cashmere. Perhaps he should have kept this pet project to himself instead of launching a product line...

Guest 5 I was thinking the same thing. Lanvin is polyester at it's best which isn't the most luxurious fabric known to man; however with that said it isn't quite the same polyester that people are familiar with it's more durable, and breathable and has a close resemblance to silk! Also I would hardly consider Acne to be more luxe than Lanvin, youthful perhaps.
Anyway when I first heard about this collaboration I was confused as the pairing seemed quite ill-fitting but I like some of the pieces. I don't understand the price point and purpose of this line. What exactly is the purpose behind teaming up with Acne to produce overpriced denim garments? Is the Acne customer a potential Lanvin customer? -- I don't really think so. I feel as if Lanvin doesn't have much to gain from this collaboration.

While I do find the 'Adventures in copyright' series entertaining I find this post to be really petty and gauche; it's a poor display of your professionalism. While I get that Target is not on Fashionista.com's radar I can't help but think you would jump to go to one of their events (I mean you guys covered a Puma event, which really isn't that great of a brand if you want to be elitist).
I can only imagine the amount of pitches/press releases you receive daily as the seeding that occurs is bananas but have some tact and keep that shit to yourselves.

Alright, well who pissed in his coffee. Poster #1 seems to be the only sensible person here. While I don't enjoy Beth Ditto's music or image I don't think I would malign her the way this editor has. This editors tirade is so gauche and gratuitous.
And seriously, British GQ doesn't seem to champion healthy female figures I mean with all their past cover girl selections and all, so really what is this all about?

Hmm this appears so affected - obviously. I mean what does she know about Woodstock and 'dropping acid' at 17? Apart from what she's seen in movies and on television.
I don't get the adulation and fanaticism surrounding these young bloggers - I think they're vapid. And yes, I'm terribly jealous of her, and a member of the party police.

Hmm, given that I'm a man, naturally I wouldn't purchase women's boots for myself. With that said I don't believe that these are an investment piece. There's no versatility, they are bold and not in a subtle way. They would be too difficult to camouflage into ones wardrobe - which would pose a problem to those who are pretentious and simply can't afford them. They're a one night (er day) only affair. I also love the juxtaposition and irony of the cut outs with the suede fringe (very ambitious boots).
