So I did it.
I bought the YSL cage heels because they’ve been on my mind since I saw the show and I am obsessed.
I figure they can spice up absolutely any outfit and let’s face it, I love the attention they demand.
But now I’m kind of stumped on what exactly to wear them with? What length of pant or skirt do you think is right? And can I really just wear them with jeans and t-shirt?

I have a dilemma.
I live in Chicago and the high today is -2. There isn’t even hope of positive temperatures.
It snows everyday and I’m desperate for a boot that’s both cute, warm, goes with everything and makes it easy to navigate the city streets. The only catch? I will not wear Uggs.
I will stand out barefoot before I spend a cent on those monstrosities.
Please help!

I must admit- I'm a total J.crew junkie. Yes, my east coast/Baltimore roots are not things that can be torn up by shear displacement. With that said, i find myself mixing all the new trends into a preppy reinvention.

I think the high prices will keep these luxury brands with a certain exclusivity. I.e. they are STILL luxury items and those who 'should' be wearing them still can afford a 1000 pair!

Umm- I definitely thinks the compliment has a LOT more weight when someone that actually has taste says it. ie- I'm surrounded by polyester pants and tennis shoes at work. When I receive a compliment, I take it in stride. Just because I actually take a second to assess myself, doesn't mean that I'm perpetually 'wowing' everyone. But if KATE said something to me, I'd die- then I'd tell everyone I know.

I agree with a lot of the readers above; the Bakers version is a lot more wearable for everyday! They don't look like a straight-off-the-runway masterpiece but then again, how many things can you wear like that? The knock-off version is more likely to attract consumers who appreciate the YSL look, but again cannot spend 1200 to achieve it. YSl should be flattered that people aspire to that achieve look at all price ranges. The Bakers version certainly wouldn't deter the regular YSL consumers from buying the shoe.

the citizens of humanity avedon skinny jeans have yet to stretch. I wore them like 4 times a week minimum this winter... Just make sure to look for a 98% cotton/ 2% polyurethane blend! That is KEY...
