I have a beautiful mink that was given to me by my grandmother, which I wear often on special occasions. I figure if being vintage isn't enough of a reason to wear it, it being a family heirloom is. Of course, I really don't have a problem with fur in general. Faux fur seems so unappealing to me...the texture is always lacking, and if you're ethically opposed to real fur, I don't see much of a point in approximating the look in a synthetic.

I'm with all of you tall girls - I'm 5'11 and I am almost always in 3+ inch heels.
That said, I think it's important to distinguish between a sneaker and a gym shoe. I would never ever be caught dead in a legitimate athletic shoe, but I love my Chuck Taylors. I prefer to wear them with something incongruously sexy to downplay their casualness...sometimes, a girl just needs to be comfy.

This is inspiring me to dress better...how cool would it be if people could post pics?!?
Today I've got...
Bluish-green BCBG wrap cardigan - $19.99 at Burlington Coat Factory
Black cami - $7.90 at H&M
Paige Premium Denim jeans that are not supposed to be trousers but sort of are since I lost 15 pounds since buying them - $40 at Filene's Basement
Black patent leather Miss Bisou flats - $18 on sale at JC Penney
Total: $85.89
It's the jewelry that is bringing up the average...does it really count if it's going to be bringing up your total by hundreds every day?

I think Doutzen is exponentially prettier than any of the other models mentioned here.
Also, as someone who is tall, thin, and pretty (if I do say so myself!), I've been told constantly that I should pursue modeling since I was a teenager...I can only imagine that someone as gorgeous as her has heard it twice as often as me. So why wouldn't she go for it? You're forced to become much more conscious of your own attractiveness when you have to hear about it all the time.

I'm from the boondocks of NH, where JC Penney is as fashionable as it gets. When I go home, I tone it down a few notches and try to stick with what's casual and comfortable - cute sweaters and cardigans, jeans tucked into flat boots, et cetera. But I think ultimately it's as much the general grooming as the clothes that make people look twice. You don't see too many girls down at the Wal-Mart with done hair, fresh makeup, and a manicure. I think that when you're habitually pulled together, you sort of develop a confident, cosmopolitan air, and that's what gets you attention.
That may not have made any sense.

I don't especially care what guys think of my underwear...after all, as Santino so wisely noted, it's only coming off. But I find that I feel so much more confident and put together if I know I have on attractive, coordinating undergarments. I'm not talking La Perla...VS will do.
For sleeping though, nothing beats American Eagle boy shorts. They're soooooooo comfy!

Did Proenza Schouler show a corset exactly like this in their regular collection at one point? Because, curiously enough, I bought a corset EXACTLY like this through the Victoria's Secret clothing catalog about six months before PS debuted at Target. The color was called "curry," sort of a rich golden bronze, with chocolate brown trim. The only difference was that the cups were the same color as the bodice. Of course, it was long enough ago that I can't find a picture of it anywhere on the internet, but I wear it out all the time and I swear the thing is identical.

I'm with DCGF...I'm pretty sure I've heard THEM pronounce it SKOOL-er.
And what about Daria? I guess I can't recall ever hearing her name said out loud, but being Polish myself, I'd have gone with ver-BOW-vee...

I don't think Nina was laughing - later on during the critique, she was totally effusive with praise. She loved it.

I will admit that I have a soft spot for the denim jumpsuit a la J. Lo circa 2001. I am NOT proud of that.

I'd go with a classic pair of black Louboutin pumps. The Prada wedges will go out of style, so you're better off with something timeless.

I don't understand tights in summer, but otherwise, choosing to ignore the season fashion-wise doesn't particularly bother me. Let's not forget that many of us work in freezing-ass cold offices and would be miserable in sundresses.

I think knockoffs are tacky, personally. I understand that the vast majority of people can't afford the originals, but like Kyle said, find something vintage that references the look. I don't see what's so chic about Forever 21...it's all synthetic crap.

I got the Reese Witherspoon cut on a whim at the beginning of September. The bangs are a total pain in the behind to style (I've actually taken to keeping a spare flatiron in my desk drawer for humidity-related emergencies, how sad is that?), but I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair in my life. They mitigate my high forehead and draw attention to my eyes, which are my best feature. I plan on keeping them long after the trend fades.
