Girls say stupid crap about beauty and themselves that they never mean. I do like this quote though, even if the girl contradicts it.

Blugreen, I respectfully disagree and think your comment is a bit shortsighted. Obviously, a lot of people don't remember her, if Fashionista has to do their homework to remember this one note R&B singer, it's fair to ask if people remember since doing homework on her is required. It is not disrespectful in the least, considering they called her talented and gorgeous two things she is anything but.

I think Kylie sucks. She's just another pop tart, I'd rather see someone classy representing brands I might like to buy.

The people here get offended about everything. Race stuff, political stuff (animal stuff), gender stuff, I get, but try not to act like someone offended the very essence of your soul by sggesting your exercise routine is over. Yoga as a trend is over, it can still have its faithful followers.

Love Josie Maran, and maybe a little Christina Milian, but everyone else I'd rather not see. Demi Moore is one of the ugliest, fakest, most insulting women in Hollywood--I dont have any saved good will towards her spawn.

I love Jourdan. Chanel is lovely for real life, but as a model I find her to look a bit muppet-ish. I'd rather see Jourdan on the cover.

i LOVE sasha, and I think that she is gorgeous, not just for a model, but for a woman. I don't think she looks like an alien at all, I think her features are universally appealing (to the skinny lovers and to non fashion people.

Love The Office reference! I'm ok with singers being put on t-shirts but, Ashlee Simpson is a bad role model for girls. Plastic surgery (and subsequent decries that girls should love themselves nomatter what.) and a lack of vocal/lyrical talent. When I saw these in the store windows, I was disgusted.

Oddly enough, 3 separate times I have been watching Project Runway randomly with someone who has remarked "That blonde woman is really pretty." I'm like, of course, that's Heidi Klum! She's just so stunning, of course women want to emulate that.

the real problem is how much female (and male to a lesser extent) potential is being wasted on worrying about what we look like.

i like you guys talking about the show, even if its not fashion related per se. I think this is the only show you should do this with (unless the hills brings back the fashion influence) though since there is a fine line regarding whether or not this applies to the theme of the blog. I love it though, so I, for one, support it! Are Dan and Serena really going to be over? They kind of seem lke the Ross and Rachel (signature couple) of the show. As long as C/B stay together, I suppose Ill be ok...

yeah, I agree with the commenters. I always see people being like Jourdan will never compare to Chanel. They look NOTHING alike to me and the comparison is ridiculous.

6:48--I am usually the first person to be offended at things that I believe are detrimental to womens' place in society, but I am very rarely offended at this blog. Calling into question other women's intelligence is counterproductive to whatever you're trying to prove as well.

I have to say--I dont necessarily buy that runway models are the ones contributing to the eating disorder epidemic. Every single person I know thinks that runway models are too skinny--genuinely. And aside from people interested in fashion (true, designer fashion) who knows about these girls? People see actresses, VS models and pop stars and more or less are inspired by that aesthetic which is less skinny, but still ridiculously unattainable. I'm not saying these girls should be as skinny as they are, it's terrible, but I think this is kind of a misfocus of energy regarding the larger problem. Everyday men and women also play a part in making others feel like crap--it's like a big game to society.
