Entry: What's Your Dream Dress?

Fall 2006 Alexander McQueen had a dress so stunningly perfect that if I can ever find it, I will wear it as my wedding dress. It was an ivory empire waist dress with black victorian lace and beading that gradually engulfed the dress from the bust down until it engulfed the hem. I have saved every photo of it I can find. Freja wore it on the runway and had an avant garde bird hat masking part of her face. It can be seen on style.com but it could have been purchased on n-a-p for like $8000 or something astronomical.

That coat was so hideous. But seeing Blair in her 07 Thanksgiving mbmj dress made me want it even though it would not flatter my figure at all.

My weight fluctuates every few weeks (corresponding with lady magic time) so I have certain pairs of jeans that I won't go near on those specific days.

I love her! But I was sad to see her apartment walls were blank. Maybe she just moved in?

I like it... Her hair is amazing. I think for a 17 year old, this is a very cute outfit. I do agree with the poster who said if they saw this they would sooner think "cute," before they thought "grab the camera!"

I will definitely not be wearing a traditional dress if I decide to get married either.
I love this Alexander McQueen dress:

But I don't think I'll ever be able to find it so I might try to find something vintage.

I save a lot of bags. The paper whole foods ones hold my newspaper recycling. The ones I get on vacation are mementos of my precious far away finds (my favorites are from smaller boutiques in Paris and St. Barths). The Saks holiday bags (with the snowflakes) are pretty enough to be gift bags this time of year. The Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc bags are super sturdy and have some resale value so I just keep them in case. And the newer saks bags featured in the article are just nice looking so I use them as totes when I go to relatives houses with wrapped presents.

I take advice from my derm and from makeupalley.com. I use a prescription face wash called Plexion to keep my complexion even and minimize blemishes. My moisturizer is called Cerave. I used to use cetaphil but my derm SWEARS by Cerave and I really love it. Less greasy than Cetaphil, in my opinion and just as cheap.

Explain to me how posting an email stating that there's nothing remotely fashionable about an aspiring model's photos, deeming them hilarious (according to the industry insider and you, guest 2:09), and then attaching the photos to the post so that all can mock them on a public blog NOT mean-spirited?

Color me jealous of people who live in areas with mj boutiques. I'm also jealous of those who live near the DSWs that got mbmj shoes in stock at 80% off the DSW price.
I did score the fall 07 mbmj cap toe mary jane flats and mid-height heels on a pretty significant discount (like 70-75% off). But 90% off seems unheard of!

I wear 80%20 slip on (vans style) shoes and chuck taylors all the time (to walk my dog) and get lots of compliments. I am 27 and not a skater or a boy.

Oh man, if you add up the money I've gotten back from ebates and luckymagrewards in the last year it seriously comes to the cost of my (admittedly cheap because I am in Pittsburgh) rent! It really adds up quickly if you shop online too much like I do.

That it is made of mink is what makes it even more provocative and interesting a statement. As cited above, even the designers/brands/models who refuse to utilize fur are attached to parent groups/brands that thrive from the business fur generates. The coat attempts to force audiences to confront those grey areas of ethical fashion. To protest the use of fur while employing the material is contradictory and even hypocritical but many critiques could be (and have been) lofted in the directions of those who have been deemed or purport to be ethical with regard to fur, environmental sustainability, labor practices, etc.
