it wasn't even cashmere...the shirtdress is wool jersey, and the other one is silk...personally, i was a little underwhelmed by the halston show....i was expecting more sex, more glamour

she did bill blass fall 2007...they put this horrible bobbed wig on her...i still have nightmares...but yeah, she's amazing, and a lot more visible now that it seems like every designer is determined to put at least two black girls in every show. One black girl is a token, but two is diversity, right?

yes, it's true that a lot of major designers do buy vintage pieces and then recreate them in new fabrics as part of their collections...but clearly that is much different than what went on here

i love it!...agreed, nice calves ad a trim waist don't hurt...though the oxford shoes without socks definitely will (unless they are like the beautiful bottega ones i saw last spring that are lined with canvas and designed to be worn that way...sigh!)...i don't think it's great for work necessarily, but in the right situation, i love it

um...i think that's some fuzzy math...last time i checked, $200,000 for 5 handbags equaled $40,000 apiece...

umm...i don't really consider steve madden shoes and target shoes to be the same customer base...the difference in price alone should explain that....you think a $40 difference in price constitutes the same target market? after spending way too much time in merchandising, business models, and new product development classes, i can tell you that you are way off on that one.....just because they are both what you call "mass brands" doesn't mean anything...target is a big box retailer, while steve madden is more of a bridge-level designer....it would be one thing if it was wal-mart ripping off target or something like that...but seriously ladies...
i realize, reading back what i just wrote, that it sounds like i'm some kind of crazy steve madden fanatic, but actually, i don't even own a pair of his shoes, nor do i own shoes from target...i just get flustered when people mis-characterize target markets, apparently.

i love him and his work as much as anyone....but, aside from the obvious handsomeness issue, could it possibly also be because he is too short? :-/
and before you all go for my jugular, i'm saying this as another short man frustrated by a modeling career that never was...so i can empathize ;-)

well, i'm a guy...and i have topsiders AND gladiator sandals for this sumer...who needs to choose?....i've had the boat shoes (just plain brown leather sperrys) for a couple years now, actually...but they have some AMAZING black faille ones by band of outsiders for sperry (sounds weird, but they're so cute in real life) at jeffrey right now that i am aching for...

@jb514
it may say that about gwyneth in the vogue story (i didn't really read the story)...but she was definitely pulling sample size pieces when she was doing all that press for iron man..
i like the liv tyler guess, so that gets my vote.

jeanne lanvin...
paquin did not start her company until 1891...lanvin beat her to it by a couple of years, 1889 to be exact...
funny that they both had the same first name...

ok...let me amend my answer by saying that, before 1908, lanvin was mostly doing millinery...so, i guess if you're talking strictly about clothes, then paquin is right...kind of a grey area, but i'm not too much of a douce to admit when i might be wrong, haha.

i feel like the mannequins are distracting..their pointy hands and little tiny noses freak me out...as for the sweaters, cute and all i guess, but yeah, it definitely looks like something grandma could recreate. especially those last two and that boxy little pink monstrosity. i love a chunky knit as much as the next guy, but no thanks.
