Entry: Dude Cinches Like a Lady

Cinched waists are coming back...but these selections are perhaps the most atrocious ones out there. British GQ had a style issue out with a lot of high-waist suit pants with a belt and a t-shirt. Very minimal, sleek, and refreshingly girly masculine. This gave it a cinched waist look...but in a manly and utilized way. These look like a dreadful, half hazard job from the stylists backstage. Perhaps even from my beloved Rachel Zoe? Don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised.
And I agree with guest 4:09. Women can get away with the belt at the waist because it's form fitting to the morphology of a woman. This doesn't work so much for a guy.... It just seems like a lack of creativity. Not to mention, the hole empire, cinched at the waist, trend is getting too overplayed for my tastes.
How bout we just wear potato sack dresses and a ice bucket and slap on a chanel tag like Lucy from I love lucy?

Yesssss. So excited. I hope they have a wall of ipods where you can listen to all of the hip, new music like they do in Paris.
Though I highly doubt that their magazine and book selections will be as extensive as it is in Paris. The only real reason most people go there.

I totally agree. It's all about the bottom line, which at the end of the day is mostly advertising sales. Fashion brands do actually call up and harangue editors that mix pieces together, or if they only shoot the head and you just get a glimpse of the dress.
Depends on what mag but most, especially in america, will listen to these fashion brands so as not to piss them off. These brands are thier clients and have the power to spend more in ads, and less if they're unhappy. It's totally political. Some mags are more obedient (ie vogue) and others are more rebellious (think W) in thier styling.

2:52 I must agree. Europeans have always had sleek envelope style briefcases, that now are called "clutches".
If you walk down the streets of paris or rome, you'll def see a chic business man holding an envelope attache. Hell, even college students. It's nothing new.
Personally, I like the sound of the former. More manly, and way more catchy.

Let's not forget Anna Wintour's Silver Chanel dress at the Met Costume Gala designed by Karl. Guess it's going mainstream now.

EWWWWWW. I'm sorry but these starts look CHEAP. And, yes it is a blatant knock off. Next time be a little less obvious about advertising for Top Shop.

hmmm that's odd that they require credit aaand are paying a small stipend. Normally you only need one or the other, and, well let's face it, why pay interns when you can settle liability issues with credit approval.

I'm not happy about this. Fashionista is becoming more of a People than a fashion site. At least only put up people in fashion or those that actually are in the scene (i.e. not susan sarandon).

J'adoooore. Amazing. I'm also rather puzzled that Chanel did not get a cover, seeing that the one editorial page itself is pretty cover worthy.
