Since white day is for boys giving gifts to girls and lots of Japanese girls are obsessed with LV, it makes perfect sense to me.

The studded tee looks like something from the women's discount store in the strip mall next to Wal-Mart, the one that sells mumuu-suits in primary colors. And the floral pattern on that skirt is so very mid-90's, it makes my skin crawl.

The dress and sandals are really nice, though.

I don't leave the house without my undereye concealer. Everything else is optional.

There are so many nice, sophisticated barrettes you can try - no need to resort to Hello Kitty plastic dealies (unless you want to, of course).

I like the plain thin metal or wood ones, myself.

I've never been a fan of ostentatious logos. I'd rather my shoes make the statement "she has a good sense of style" than "she's attempting to be in the know."

I thought you were going to say that you abstained from the sequined leggings when you realized that anyone wearing that garment would have to walk very carefully or else risk making a noticeable crunching sound and leaving a little trail of broken sequins behind her.

There are some people who just won't leave the house unless they're suitably spiffed up. I knew a girl in college who wore pearls and a hair bow to gym class - no lie.

But while you won't catch me wearing pajama pants to the grocery store, I generally don't care what I look like at the gym. I go to a small women-only gym where everyone else also wears mismatched sweats.

I don't think it's height so much as leg shape. I have curvy calves and tall socks are really unflattering on me. However, I can rock a pair of fishnets or seam-back stockings.

Entry: Do You Dress For Your Boss?

posted by superflippy

My boss wears a coat and tie every day even though he doesn't have to. He wouldn't fire me if I wore jeans and flip-flops into the office, but I know he prefers his employees to be a little more dressed up than that - he's complained of people in the past who wore beat-up shorts and old t-shirts. So I stick to a business casual look (nice pants or skirt) and try to make it interesting.

I'm only in the office one day a week. The rest of the time I work from home and wear whatever I feel like.

What a great idea! Now women with boobs can wear the look without looking silly.

Urban Outfitters existed when you were 16? I don't know whether I should feel really old, or really provincial.

Ha! Neither of those eBay finds comes close to the late-80's monstrosity I have lurking in my closet. I knew that old thing would be good for a laugh someday. Just hand me the trophy now, ladies.

I actually do wear glasses every day - there aren't good contacts for my prescription.

So I say to the celebs, wear away! I'll be ahead of the trend for a change. I would also love to see more fashionable options when I go to buy my next pair.

It won't be the bags that are bigger next go-round, it will be the logos. Instead of discreet logo patterns we'll have giant logos so big and obvious that the current crop of bags will seem subtle by comparison. Remember those giant logo Esprit t-shirts from way back when? Something like that.

At any rate, doesn't matter to me because I don't like to wear or carry anything with a logo splashed across it.

My first thought on seeing this picture was, nice fabric. My second was, someone please get this girl a slip! Or else fire the photo stylist.

I hadn't even considered, as nadarine points out, that this might be "combi-shorts." Perish the thought.

I'm torn. The one on the right looks better-made, but the cut of the one on the left looks more current. Is the one on the right a man's jacket and the one on the left a woman's? That might explain the discrepancy.

As long as they don't try to take your domain name away from you, it could lead to increased traffic.

I think it's a poor choice to name the show, though. At least call it "Tyra's Fashionistas" or something like that. This blog will always come up before the show in Google.

Yikes. Someone got a little overzealous with the lip liner. Much as I hate to quote Seinfeld, I agree that it's important for a woman to know where her lips stop.
