Sadly, yes. However, I happen to think that my boss dresses incredibly well herself, so maybe it's the need to impress?

Uh. I agree with the above comment - I don't think anyone who forks over $200 for a velour track suit can qualify as "cheap." Tacky as all hell, yes, but NOT cheap.

Personally, I think that coat is hideous, and if it WASN'T from F21, I'd call you an idiot for spending so much money on it.

I crocheted myself a pair two years ago because I couldn't bear to spend the $$$, and do wear them occasionally with boots - but I've never really considered them very stylish. Simply necessary to keep warm.

I have to ask all you one-piece converts: how are the tan lines? I feel shallow for asking, but that always brings me back to my bikini (it being quite easy to, uh, untie for a bit?).

a) last longer
b) are more likely to get EXACTLY what I want the first time around.

I'm a convert :)))

I'll say it - I shop at F21. Often.

If a friend of MINE ever turned their nose up at my F21 outfit with the same serious "but I expected SO MUCH MORE from you! I thought you liked fashion!" attitude of this post, I'd make it a point to stop calling that person my friend. Because, really, I don't need that sort of shallow, judgmental crap in life.

FYI: The pricing here isn't "absurd." It's the exact same prices as before!

According to the current exchange rate, a dress on the UK site listed at £40 is worth $72.67. When I check the same dress on the US site, it's listed at $80. A difference of $8. In some cases (the shoes, for instance), there's no mark-up at all - everything is simply converted according to going rate.

So you're not "getting it cheaper" if you buy it in London versus through the American website. (Well, yes, maybe you are, technically, since you're not paying a shipping fee.)

The four floors of wonderful at Oxford Circus ARE priceless, though. ;)

Entry: Study: Does Carrying A Fake Make You Fake?

posted by tahl

Last week, I bought a fake Gucci on Canal Street. This week, overwhelmed by the immoral sensations, I committed murder?

Listen, I love fashion. I love it *a lot*. But whatever my opinion on people who buy fakes versus people who don't, I find it very, very, very suspect that you can somehow "link" one's style choice to their overall moral behavior. Would you say that a person who wears only authentic designer clothes are ~more likely~ to be virtuous? You might, but people who would probably laugh at you. To condemn a whole person's ethical character based solely on THE CLOTHES THEY WEAR is the most judgmental, messed up thing ever.

Way to be shallow and exactly the people non-fashion people think we are, guys!
