“We had to wait [to work with each other] until we had the same haircut” — Mario Testino.
“Actually, my inspiration for my haircut was Mario” — Emma Watson.

- A post-Potter Emma Watson joking with Mario Testino in between snaps at her British Vogue covershoot in this adorable behind-the-scenes video.

“Maybe I would never have been this interested in fashion if I hadn’t played that role for so long and sometimes felt so constrained by being identified with her so much…I mean, I just wasn’t allowed to do anything: wasn’t allowed to cut my hair, put on nail varnish, tan, wear a bra that made my boobs in any way look [larger], have any flesh showing, wear any makeup when I was playing Hermione. I always had to back-comb my hair — ‘She looks too pretty, take down the blush or the mascara, take it off.’ Fashion was my rebellion.”

Emma Watson opens up to WWD about finally moving on from Harry Potter.

“They said there would be four or five meetings. We had 40 to 50 meetings. I don’t think you’re getting an expensive H&M [piece]; you’re getting a bargain of Lanvin.” –Alber Elbaz to WWD. See you at the Pierre tonight, darling!

“My last passion is HEAD-PIECES…to collect them and to preserve them is a problem because they going to die if they are not worn. Then I’ve started the collection of HEADS matching with the WIGS to be able to visualize better the look of the HATS.”

- Who else could it be? She wore watermelons and cherries on her head during fashion week. Anna Dello Russo blogging on her love for head pieces. Rather, HEAD-PIECES. And yes, she is also collecting mannequin heads complete with wigs to mount her head pieces on. Look.

Sarah Jessica Parker, star of that whole Sex and the City phenomenon, opened up to the UK’s Sun about how she reconciled being a prude with starring in the series about women who were anything but. And about how’s she’s scared of drugs and somehow only recently saw cocaine for the first time despite having been in showbiz for over 30 years.

“I wish I hadn’t been so ashamed of being a prude. It would have made life so much easier. I now don’t mind who knows about my opinions…I have never taken drugs in my life and only witnessed it at a party for the first time quite recently. I made the mistake of walking in to a bathroom and saw a person I knew snorting cocaine. They had a rolled-up dollar bill, like something out of the film Scarface. I was terrified that the police would raid us!”…Before I even started filming Sex And The City, I had a ‘no nudity’ clause inserted in my contract. By then, I felt no sense of guilt. I knew that I would not feel comfortable with nudity. I was thrilled that the other cast members could accept it and did it really well.”

No wait, there’s more.

“The first [mistake] was when she said ‘Not one man I have spoken to likes a woman in mini skirts’. I think no one dared to tell this 86-year-old lady that miniskirts are great and really sexy. Number two was when she decided blue jeans were horrible. This was the fashion of the world at that particular moment – it was the Sixties. No one wanted to be told by an old lady that miniskirts and jeans weren’t chic. The result was that she lost her power and in the end no one cared about what she did.”

Kanye West was named “Stylemaker of the Year” by the Accesories Council last night at Cipriani. He gave an amazing acceptance speech and Vulture transcribed the whole thing. It’s too good not to quote in full (but I’ve bolded the best parts):

The concept of commercialism in the fashion and art world is looked down upon. You know, just to think, “What amount of creativity does it take to make something that masses of people like?” And, “How does creativity apply across the board?” Why, if someone is good in one field can they not be accepted or given the slightest opportunity to express and be creative in other fields? I thank Marc Jacobs so much for giving me the opportunity to design a shoe for Louis Vuitton, but the thing that broke my heart most was when they said, “You’re finished. The shoe’s finished.” When it was ready it was like the dream of putting together the fabric and having the energy that I knew of being a street kid, of being a boy out of Chicago, and enjoying every day and the way I can connect with this. It’s like, you can’t play the video game anymore. And that’s what it’s about. So many people in this room, they can’t even go on vacation without being creative. They can’t sit on the beach, they have to create constantly. And that’s how I feel with this album coming out.

No wait, there’s more…

“I’m just a Chi-town n-gga with a Nas flow
And my bitch in that new Phoebe Philo
So much head, I woke up to Sleepy Hollow,”
Kanye West in “Dark Fantasy” from his new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

“She’s not an anorexic bitch, she has tits and an ass…Blake is in her 20s and has a hot body, she’s a teen icon of high fashion and we haven’t really seen something like it, she’s like the Jackie O of her time.” –Costume designer Eric Daman on Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively. Thank you, Hollywood Life.

“[T]he one guarantee that you will never make it as a model is to go on [America's Next Top Model],” Paulina Porizkova, former ANTM judge, dishes to the NY Post on how Tyra Banks’ long-running model reality show does not a super model make. (Of course, she’s right though, none of the ANTM winners have gone on to be super successful models.) In this no holds barred interview, Porizkova also takes aim at Naomi Campbell, Nicole Kidman and Janice Dickinson. It’s worth a read.

“If it’s a good sex tape, I’ll watch it…I like some adult stars. I have a couple favorites. But I will say this: That Tommy Lee/Pamela Anderson video wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t f–k Tommy Lee.”–17-year-old Taylor Momsen in her cover story for Revolver magazine, via dlisted. Good to know!

“I catered Reed’s bar mitzvah…I still have all his contracts in my files, and all the correspondence I did with his mother about it,” Martha Stewart to an audience member at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Executive Women in Fashion event on Thursday evening, as reported in WWD. Of course Martha still has the contracts from a job she did around 33 years ago (Reed is 46).
