Tiny, 21, intern
Got Her: Strolling down Broadway.
Stalked Her: Bright colors on a tall girl (don’t let her moniker fool you) will always catch our attention.
Shot Her: Her total look was a refreshing change of pace from what we often see in our neighborhood, and then we also noticed her cornrows. Very Alice Dellal, except without any awkward regrowth periods.
She Said: She gets inspiration from street style, but overall the way she dresses is personal, “My style is my mood. When I’m happy, I’ll just throw on this shirt.”
We Say: Keep smiling!

Camille, 22, intern
Got Her: Walking down Prince on her way to lunch.
Stalked Her: The lace lured us in.
Shot Her: Her light pink dress with its black lace overlay had us yearning to revive our lace addiction. When we got closer we noticed her super cute Miu Miu flats and layered pearls. We love how she managed to look fresh and young while combining such classics.
She Said: “I like a little bit of everything, and I’ve been super into pearls lately.”
We Say: Antique chic. Nice.

Hiba, 31, law student
Got her: She was looking for lunch on Broadway, we were looking for her.
Stalked her: Because of that print.
Shot her: Because when we got closer, we noticed the gorgeous earrings, too.
She said: Her mother’s American and her father’s Saudi Arabian, so she likes a mix of east and west and a mix of vintage and modern. She calls her style “sort of hippie with 1930s flair.”
We said: Dressing like that while studying for the bar? We’re impressed.

Dominique, 24, singer
Got her: Texting her way down Mott Street on her way to work.
Stalked her: Her vibrant red hair color caught our eye. Though the outfit holds its own, too.
Shot her: Because she makes all black look so fresh and summery.
She said: “Well, I have to wear all black for work. Other than that, 50s vintage everything, plus designer vintage—” yes, the Chanel bag she’s swinging is real “—It’s all about flea markets, flea markets, flea markets.”
We said: We’ll take advice from anyone who wears all vintage, has tattoos and avoids looking like a crazy Amy Winehouse wannabe.

Tekla, 32, stylist
Got Her: Walking down the Bowery, right before the rain hit
Stalked Her: It’s been a long time since we’ve seen someone look so chic in a shirt dress. So chic we didn’t even question her tights on such a warm day.
Shot Her: It’s a simple, streamlined look and we love that she’s rocking a wedge even though she’s already tall (plus, we’re super jealous of her long legs). And the details: we didn’t even notice her fab rings and funky tattoos until we got closer, but they made her outfit that much cooler.
She Said: “Simple and comfortable, always. I love designer, but never with the brand name showing.”
We Say: Her unique take on minimalism deserves its own name.

Georgia, 20 & Leah, 27, salesgirls
Got Them: Strolling through Soho on the perfect spring day.
Stalked Them: Wouldn’t you? They’re dressed kind of perfectly and we worship anyone who still manages to layer and look comfy come New York heat.
Shot Them: Because Georgia’s striped dress and scarf are a prime example of mixing patterns. And Leah’s silk Calvin Klein top was to die for, especially underneath her loose boxy jacket.
They Said: “We usually shop at vintage and consignment stores, but mostly we like to wear the things we get for free from work.”
We Say: You must have the best dressed office ever.

Marion, 19, intern
Got Her: Shopping with a friend, crossing the street at Broadway and Spring.
Stalked Her: Because we’ve been feeling nostalgic lately and these jellies, circa 1995 are like the cherry on our nostalgia cake.
Shot Her: Because she’s mixing brights like a pro. That yellow jacket, floral skirt and fluorescent shoes would make Rainbow Brite proud. Oh how we’d love to wear color like this.
She Said: “My style is a simpler and more urban Carrie Bradshaw. My shoes? A dollar at Target last year!”
We Said: Take us shoe shopping, please?

Lindsay, 24, works at a digital interactive agency
Got Her: At the Tommy Hilfiger/PAPER Magazine Re-Branding America party last night, on the stairs.
Stalked Her: Do you see her shiny jacket? Everyone was stalking her.
Shot Her: Because she was wearing a giant flower purse, a shiny jacket, the pink Marc dress we’ve wanted forever and cowboy boots and still looked relaxed and adorable.
She said: “I saw this purse in Teen Vogue once and totally tracked it down. It’s from some totally random website out of like Ohio or something and I’m obsessed.”
We said: Shine on flower girl.

Flora, sales girl
Got Her: She works at Noir Kennedy, a great punky, Gothic store in the Marais that sells everything from vintage classic navy and white striped French shirts to acid wash rompers and Cheap Mondays.
Stalked Her: Because those purple suede booties are screaming for attention. The studded jumpsuit isn’t exactly subtle either.
Shot Her: Because we immediately love anyone who wears kitten eyeliner to work.
She said: “I wear mostly vintage, mostly 80s. But I’m dying for a pair of patent YSL mary-janes.”
We said: If we had a pair, we’d trade you for the booties.

Sarah, 21, Publicist for American Apparel
Got her: Shopping in Le Marais, where we find all the cute girls!
Stalked her: Because her wool camel coat did something miraculous to the shape of her shoulders. Also, it matches the perforated saddle shoes.
Shot her: She’s wearing a thin leather jacket under the wool one which makes for pretty killer layering on the cloudy springtime day. She’s pulling off six different pieces of clothing without looking like a bag lady.
She said: “I’m en route to buy dresses for summer and sandals, too! Swedish designers are my favorite.”
We said: Do you layer your way through summer, too?

Fay, 21, design student at Parson’s in Paris
Got her: On the way to play model for a friend’s senior project.
Stalked her: Because she’s wearing full length everything, which is super difficult to pull off, and makes it look perfect with boots.
Shot her: Because her dress isn’t just full length but nude which usually spells disaster. It hails from Brooklyn and was clearly made for this girl.
She said: “But I feel like I don’t look good at all today! I think I’d say my style is as if a British dandy were to become a Native American.
We said: That trumps every style description we’ve ever heard.

Name: Elodie, 18, Fashion student
Got Her: Enjoying a glass of wine outside La Perle, Paris’s hipster watering hole.
Stalked Her: Because her poppy-red blazer was a welcome repose from the sea of black and gray.
Shot Her: Because we love her chunky silver accessories. Plus, her necklace was originally a belt, as we later learned.
She Said: I love preppy pieces, but I’m always trying to break down the boundaries between hippie chic and classic. This weekend I’m showing my first runway collection- which I’m really excited about!
We Said: Bold prep-sters are right up our alley.

Maimoun, 27, student
Got her: In a petit park in the sixth on her way to an afternoon drink with her friend.
Stalked her: Because I spotted those Nike high-tops from a mile away. Also, I’ve been thinking about jean jackets for a bit now and hers was the best I’ve seen.
Shot her: Because I didn’t even realize her slashed leggings until I got up close and they really made the outftit.
She said: “I tend to identify with the bobochic style in Paris.”
We said: We tend to identify with that jacket.

Name: Nathalie, 23, actress
Got Her: Strolling down Rue Vieille du Temple on her way home from the gym.
Stalked Her: Because her wrapped scarf was so quintessentially French. And nothing beats a pumped up retro-style ponytail.
Shot Her: Because we love the abundance of Givenchy-esque lace-up wedge boots on Paris girls. Though as much as we love them with tights, we can’t wait to see them with bare legs and shorts and summer dresses.
She Said: I guess I have a lot of style influences. I really love Isabel Marant, Balmain, and Martin Margiela.
We Said: Who the hell looks like this post-workout?

Angele, sales assistant
Got her: Shopping near Les Halles on her lunch break.
Stalked her: Because we’re clearly going through a harem pant phase. We’re not confident enough to wear them, but the rest of Paris makes them look awesome - we might have to snag a pair after all.
Shot her: Because she kept her all black look from being even a bit boring by mixing up textures, shapes and fabrics. The strappy wedges give her fashion forward pants and black leather jacket a girly edge.
She said: “I’ve been hanging out at this bar, La Feline in Ménilmontant. It’s a rock bar and it’s really pushed my rock and roll style - in a good way.”
We said: Rock on.

Name: James, 16, student
Got Her: In the Marais, vintage shopping with her boyfriend.
Stalked her: Her knee length harem shorts and short cowboy boots made for a surprisingly put together look.
Shot her: Because we’d have given an arm and a leg to be so well dressed at sixteen. Now we’d just give an arm.
She said: “My pants are Chloe, but you’ll usually find me wearing dresses.”
We said: We think you’re Chloe’s dream girl.

Name: Vanessa, 33, jewelry designer.
Got Her: Eating her lunch, soup, in the Etienne Marcel neighborhood.
Stalked her: Because she’s wearing leather shorts which are hard to pull off but a great alternative to the kind of ubiquitous jean shorts with tights.
Shot her: Because I was obsessed with that suede jacket from a mile away. It came down to the length of her shorts, great lace-up boots and perfect sheer tights.
She said: “I’m designing my jewelry collection today, then doing make-up on a shoot Tuesday and Wednesday so it’s all about comfort. I love the 70’s, rock and roll and the mix of masculine and feminine clothing.”
We said: Anyone who makes leather and suede work, rocks our world.

Sylvie, 27, History and Archeology Student
Got her: Near Les Invalides, walking to class.
Stalked her: Because her playful, floppy hat was the perfect indication that spring’s just around the corner.
Shot her: Because we’ve never seen a grandma sweater look so chic. Plus, the unexpected combination of her comfy sweater with the Peter Pan-collared dress, bright orange bag and silver sandals with tights, culled from a variety of low-budget sources, made for a totally original look (minus the echo of Madeline).
She said: “I promise you, it’s nothing fancy.”
We said: We promise you, that makes it much, much cooler.

Lolita, 20, art student
Got her: Walking out of Freep’star, the second-hand store in Le Marais with her purchases in hand.
Stalked her: Because while the jumpsuit may still be a foreign concept to most, everyone knows its more casual cousin, the overall, last seen sometime in sixth grade, and therefore due for a comeback - and Lolita’s men’s blazer totally makes it work!
Shot her: Because her long necklaces were well placed and we loved the mix of silver and gold. Also, her blue scarf brought out the blue stitching on her blazer and for such a casual outfit she paid great attention to the little details.
She said: “I like to think my style’s a kind of uptight grunge! I’m just heading to La Durée for fresh squeezed oranges.”
We said: We’re not sure what uptight grunge means, but we like it.

Izadora, 21, fashion student at Studio Berçot in Paris
Got Her: Smoking outside of Experimental Cocktail Club near Etienne Marcel
Stalked Her: Her flow-y skirt made her look a million years long, something most people don’t pull off, especially since it was that scrunchy, pleated material which is grandly unflattering nine out of ten times.
Shot Her: Her belt was studded, triple-strapped and even had buckles, and her otherwise normal tank was styled to give that message of “Yeah, I’m dressed up, but not” which everybody wants to do with their hang out gear.
She Says: My favorite designer is Margiela, but my skirt is from Allison, (no, that comma’s not a typo, it’s part of the name). I like to wear it to go dancing at Le Baron or Le Chacha.
We Say: Mais oui, bien sûr.
