Fascinated by fascinators? Kate Middleton‘s fondness for fascinators (they’re de rigueur for royals and posh Brits at formal affairs) have created an increased fascination for the frou frou head pieces. Google searches for fascinator are up 50% since January and sales have spiked at the few US retailers that sell them, according to CNN.

So, you got an It bag. You know you shouldn’t have splurged but you convinced yourself that you absolutely cannot live without it (this season anyway). You buy it. You notice that every girl (and Bryanboy impersonator) on the street is carrying “it.” Now you feel like that person wearing a fedora and you have no money to purchase anything from the Fall 2010 first deliveries. What to do?
Last Spring, a tricked-out Topshop truck showered the city with gift cards and tote bags in anticipation of the store’s opening. Since this Wednesday, the same truck has been on a promotional tour around the city. We wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so we decided to, quite literally, get our hands dirty and head over to McCarren Park in Billyburg for Day 3.
What we found was a full-on t-shirt customization workshop, so we grabbed a free tee, and with some help and inspiration from a few well-dressed Topshop employees, gave it a full-on Fashionista makeover. While ours was certainly not the most intricate or detailed, it was pretty easy to make and we are proud of it, so here are some step-by-step instructions in case you want to make your own!
