Quoth Adriana Lima, “Leave her alone!” {Vogue UK}

They may be flawless supermodels now but even the Victoria’s Secret Angels were once inexperienced teenagers going through the typical awkward milestones–first kisses and all.

To get you in the Valentine’s Day spirit (which we tend to forget during Fashion Week madness), watch Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge and Lais Ribeiro–all scantily clad in VS undies–talk about the first time they ever smooched a guy. Turns out that being incredibly hot does not automatically make you a good kisser: Doutzen says her first kiss was “not so good,” while Lily cops to feeling embarrassed and running away afterwards. Erin’s first kiss, on the other hand, lead to a very, very sticky situation literally).

We won’t give the whole thing away but we have to say, hearing about their first kiss snafus, is making us feel a whole lot better about our teenage awkwardness.

Heidi Klum and Seal Aren’t The Kind Who Have Nasty Break-Ups: We’ve watched a lot of nasty celebrity divorces unfold (see: Demi & Ashton), but just a day after confirming his breakup with his supermodel wife, Heidi Klum, Seal is assuring us that his divorce will not be drama-filled (at least not publicly). The singer told Tavis Smiley: “We’re just not those kind of people. What one has to do in this situation is to remain civil, to retain one’s dignity, to be professional, and to understand that we are not the only people on this planet that are going through this.” {ONTD}

Get Ready for Zac Posen x Lord & Taylor: The young designer is teaming up with the retailer to curate a capsule collection of twelve dresses ranging from $149 to $199. More affordable Zac Posen? We don’t hate it! {StyleCaster}

Solange Knowles is Perfection in February’s InStyle: We dare you to identify the flaws in Solange Knowles’ shoot for InStyle magazine. Oh wait, you can’t, because it’s flawless. The DJ and new aunt rocks her signature prints and turbans for a super fun spread in this month’s issue of the glossy. We’ll be needing every single outfit in our size, thank you very much. {My Damn Blog}

Carine Roitfeld is continuing to relish her role as a freelancer by taking on yet another new quirky gig. She guest edited VMan‘s spring fashion issue, which will hit newsstands on February 14, WWD is reporting. And instead of using male models, she shot “real people.” Well, real men to be exact–like chefs, mechanics, architects and even a fireman. Obviously they’re all hot, or “not hard to look at,” as WWD puts it.

Carine told the trade, “I like men trendy, but not fashion victims. It’s more effortless.” She claims that the images in VMag are “very new for a men’s magazine,” which is quite intriguing.

Donna Karan has come under fire recently over her spring 2012 campaign, which features Brazilian model Adriana Lima and was shot in Haiti. Karan shot the campaign in Haiti, she explained in a release, because the country was her “creative inspiration, bringing my two worlds together… [the campaign] infuses the vibrant spirit of Haiti into a sexy New York sophistication.” She’s founded a charity to bring support to the ravaged country called Hope Help & Rebuild Haiti and said that bringing awareness to Haiti has become a “personal passion” of hers. She’s definitely done that here–but it has been the opinion of some blog commenters that the result is misguided and racist.

Donna Karan’s spring 2012 collection was heavily influenced by the time the designer spent in Haiti following the earthquake–so it was only fitting that she shoot her spring ad campaign there. “Bringing awareness to Haiti has become a personal passion,” Karan said in a release. “For Spring, it was also my creative inspiration, bringing my two worlds together. This campaign, shot in Jacmel, infuses the vibrant spirit of Haiti into a sexy New York sophistication.”

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is airing tonight (on CBS, 10/9C), and it’s always a spectacle of physical perfection. We don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but we dug up some pictures of some of the well-known Angels, and while–yes, they were obviously adorable–they’ve also had their share of bad bowl haircuts, gangly limbs, and mom-imposed fashion. But they’ve all emerged from their cocoons to earn their Angel wings (um, sorry for mixing metaphors there) and we’re excited to see the whole extravaganza tonight.

Click through to see the Angels back when they were mere mortals.

Adriana Lima: OK, so she was pretty much always very attractive.

Adriana Lima caught a lot of flak for her extreme pre-Victoria’s Secret fashion show diet and exercise regimen.

She admitted to the Telegraph that she worked out with a trainer every day starting in August, twice a day for the three weeks leading up to show time, and went on a liquid diet for nine days before she hit the runway on November 9. Lima was even quoted as saying she stops drinking 12 hours before the show “so you dry out” because “sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that.”

To be fair, her words may have been twisted a bit as we caught Lima eating a Starbucks muffin or scone and sipping on coffee backstage (and you know those aren’t lacking in calories).

Nevertheless, news of crazy diet sent shockwaves through the internet and now Lima’s addressing the reaction.

The backstage of fashion shows are usually a hot hectic mess. But not Victoria’s Secret. When you have the budget to put on a $12 runway show, backstage is pretty swank. As in, there was a carving station. And models actually eat from it.

The models wear very short pink silk robes while extensions and hair spray and bronzer and shimmering make up is applied in heaps. But they’re all smiles throughout. These girls are having fun. Our street style photog Ashley was there to capture the magic that is Victoria’s Secret backstage. Highlights included Kanye making an appearance and chatting with Alessandra Ambrosio, and Adriana Lima posing for an impromptu lingerie shoot on top of a table.

Check it out.

2010 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - Runway

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will be filmed today and although the models always talk about how much fun it is, we bet many of them will breathe sighs of relief once it’s all over because that means their weird, crazy diets will be over too. Those outfits are pretty unforgiving, so everyone’s been asking the VS angels what they’ve been doing to get in shape for the show and many of them are open about it.

If you thought they all did the same starving and constantly working out routine, you’d be wrong. They all have their own method (or their nutritionists and trainers do, at least). So, whose worked the best? Click through to learn their tricks.

This Wednesday night, the Victoria’s Secret Angels will prance/walk/fly down the runway wearing a bunch of fantasy lingerie for the taping of the 2011 Victoria’s Secret fashion show. The fittings have been taking place this past weekend, and there are a lot of sneak peeks of what’s to come. While most people won’t get to see the full production until it airs on CBS on November 29 at 10/9C, these pictures should tide you over until then. Read more »
