We were all completely blown away by the images released earlier today of Claudia Schiffer’s new campaign for Guess, twenty-three years after the German supermodel originally posed for the brand. Two decades later, the lady still looks as Guess-girl flawless as she did back in 1989, before she attained her supermodel status.

It got us to thinking: In the thirty years of Guess’s existence, which other big-names got their industry start modeling for the brand? We did a little digging, and as it turns out, there have been quite a few more than you might Guess (ha!). It seems like Victoria’s Secret (you know, that other brand known for its seriously sexy campaign starlets) has a habit of plucking its Angels from the pool of genetically blessed Guess girls. And then, there have also been a few Guess missteps (coughParis Hilton). Hello Kitty Lingerie Coming Soon: Lingerie brand Hanky Panky has teamed up with everyone’s favorite mouthless cartoon cat, Hello Kitty, on a collection of undergarments. (Why no mouth? Because Hello Kitty “speaks from the heart.”) Since there are honestly too many R-rated, half-witty comments and puns just begging to be made about this collaboration, we’ll spare you entirely and will simply say: The collection launches in May. {Racked}

Another Victoria’s Secret Angel is Pregnant: There must be something in the holy water at Victoria’s Secret because yet another Angel is pregnant! Adriana Lima announced yesterday that she’s expecting her second child, which puts her on the growing list of growing bikini babes (including Lily Aldridge and Alessandra Ambrosio). No word on how far along she is, but the VS Fashion Show takes place in November (8 mos away), and we wouldn’t be a bit surprised if she shows up with a six pack. {People}

Anna Wintour Parties with the Democrats: As the election creeps closer, fashion’s love affair with the Democratic Party hasn’t shown signs of fading. Monday night, Anna Wintour hosted a fund-raiser to re-elect NY Senator Dem Kirsten Gillibrand, who also sat front row at Carolina Herrera’s show last month. Other politically savvy fashion folk in attendance included DVF, Kenneth Cole, Francisco Costa, and Michel Kors. {WWD}

FHM Philippines Scraps Racist Cover: FHM Philippines planned to publish their March issue with a cover featuring local fair-skinned actress, Bela Padilla pushing past a group of Filipina models painted to appear black. The offending photo was captioned “stepping out of the shadows.” As expected, FHM Philippines “apologized” profusely, saying, “In our pursuit to come up with edgier covers, we will strive to be more sensitive.” When the BBC asked Ms. Padilla about the cover, she expressed surprise at the negative reaction, claiming they “weren’t thinking of racial discrimination” during the shoot. It seems Ms. Padilla and co. weren’t thinking at all. {BBC}

Carine Roitfeld Uses ‘Real People’ in VMan for Guest Editor Gig, Shoots a Pinup Calendar Featuring Victoria’s Secret Supermodels

Carine Roitfeld is continuing to relish her role as a freelancer by taking on yet another new quirky gig. She guest edited VMan‘s spring fashion issue, which will hit newsstands on February 14, WWD is reporting. And instead of using male models, she shot “real people.” Well, real men to be exact–like chefs, mechanics, architects and even a fireman. Obviously they’re all hot, or “not hard to look at,” as WWD puts it.

Carine told the trade, “I like men trendy, but not fashion victims. It’s more effortless.” She claims that the images in VMag are “very new for a men’s magazine,” which is quite intriguing.

Before They Were Angels: A Look at the Victoria’s Secret Models When They Had Braces and Bowl Cuts

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is airing tonight (on CBS, 10/9C), and it’s always a spectacle of physical perfection. We don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but we dug up some pictures of some of the well-known Angels, and while–yes, they were obviously adorable–they’ve also had their share of bad bowl haircuts, gangly limbs, and mom-imposed fashion. But they’ve all emerged from their cocoons to earn their Angel wings (um, sorry for mixing metaphors there) and we’re excited to see the whole extravaganza tonight.
